I just remembered that a very wise man told me that the u-joints/yokes need to be +/- 5 degrees of the same plane....it's not important that the rear yoke point up toward the transfer, but rather they are parallel! If at all possible of course:razz:
lockers
The air lockers seem to have a lot of failures with air supply
The electric lockers seem to have a lot of failures with wires....
i'll stick to my posi's
They use a chemical instead, like here in north idaho.....the name of it escapes me right now
Salt is very hard on the roads and the chemical is very hard on our cars/paint......we do have good roads though!
Lift options
Dodge used 3.5-4" lift blocks stock in a lot of trucks, junkyard price 10.00
U-bolts for front/rear w/ center pins 45.00
Drop steering arm new 65.00
brake line extensions at napa 40.00
Junk yard score on front lift springs 40.00
Front driveline rebuild for length(if necessary)...

Otherwise, to clear 38/14.5/16 toyo m/t's you need more than...
aren't tranny's fun!
I forgot to ask you to check for a presence of vaccuum at the modulator...a pin hole in your vaccuum line can make the tranny want to use the gov. gear to shift, but because there's some vaccuum it shifts before it winds all the way up.
I'm trying to use...
the only other thing not mentioned was condition of rear brakes...if you forget to take e-brake off a few times and had worn shoes to begin with than this is a possible scenario....the rear brakes are directly rosponsible for a "full" pedal:-D
I wonder if 1 or more of the 3 bolts connecting to the torque conv. could have come loose and started rubbing....just a shot in the dark, but it is an easier fix:!:
I need tires
Can you direct me to where I can get some 37" humvee tires like yours? Thier not for 1008, i'll use them on my mud truck. Any how I also might try the 285's for 1008....they seem to be perfect, now I just need to find them!:-D
