Thanks Don, some useful information instead of flaming inuendo and guessing about product durability. Very much appreciated. All steel, whether cast, forged or cut is alloy. Depending on the content and quantity of additives they determine things like corrosion resistance, hardness, torsional...
AVM/Superwinch
The AVM's and their cousins imported by and sold under the Superwinch name are made in Brazil, Sao Paulo to be exact. The pictures are shocking, the level of mass displayed between the two is impressive, with the Ouverswon's (sp?)being very impressive indeed. What are the price...
I remember you listing the link earlier in this thread. I reopened the link and saw where you cut the center out of one rim and then cut the depth you needed and then welded the two pieces together. This gave you the width and also the offset for the wider tire. Simply ingenious. I've been doing...
Over the last 25 years or so I've had good luck with the Harbor Freight and the like cheapies. They'll run anywhere from 15 to 35 dollars on sale and use a one quart siphoning type can. Some were teflon lined and some were just plain aluminum. They run great on pressure anywhere from 45 to 60...
LAV stands for Light Armored Vehicle. it is a Marine 8X8 that uses 16 inch tires. I believe the tires are now slightly larger than 11.00 but are still 16 inch. There are lots of
pictures of LAV-25's on the internet.
I finally found a picture with a good view of the lug nuts but haven't found a...
What size tires are on it here in this pic? Would you mind telling me about the wheels. It's regretful to hear you had to sell it. What a great truck.

WOW
A rebuild and retrofit that even a contractor couldn't touch. I wish we were closer in location. My compliments to you young man, you have done a phenominal job. One of the commandments says something about Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife, He might have spent a few minutes deciding...
I've worked out a design that will let me select locked rear, in phase rear, and out of phase rear steering. The box will feedthrough to the front power steering without interruption for safety. The lower output to the rear power steering box will lock at zero degrees in front only selection...
Thanks
Thanks very much for your offer, Kurt has decided he would be better of paying FedEx as he is very far from Barstow and that trip alone would cost more than shipping direct for him.

Please Stop
It has gotten to the point where I look at pictures of these Bobs and my stomach gets queazy and aches. I've got the Bob virus really bad. And the fact that this is a beautiful job makes it even worse.
Tires
Hi Joe, let me contact the fellow who bought a set of 11.00-16's from me. This may be ideal to help you with fuel and him getting his tires. I have another fellow who bought some other tires from me and is going to Springs to pick up a truck and maybe I can help him out so he doesn't have...
Adapters
I've worked out the machining process for an adapter that will bolt on to the Dodges and then use lug nuts for the LAV wheel. No welding involved. My hold up right now is finding a lug nut so I can source them and the lug bolt that will fit the LAV wheels.

A Mack
Thanks Beastmaster. It may look deceiving though, they use a 3/4 inch pin or bolt and are a 1 1/2 inch inside radius. Probably not as large as sometthing on a big mack. But maybe. I'll post a pic tomorrow on where they're going on my M37's.

Bryan
I have three shackles and need a fourth. They are made by CM Forge whose distributors freak out at the idea of dealing with military items. The number on the shackle is 19207 12355838. These are normally installed on the M116's. I need just one. Thanks

Already on that chalkboard, I'm deciding on whether to use a manufactured scissor lift or design and build my own hydraulic package because of the custom building. I'm leaning toward a resized original bed as the dump bed. I have also designed (preliminary) a selectable rear steering linkage. I...
I haven't priced one lately but what would be a going price on a complete winch setup. It includes the following:
Braden LU4 Winch
Bumper and extensions and mounting hardware
PTO and shift lever with locking bracket, rubber floor seal, and PTO to winch shaft.
Cable with chain lead and...
