    Wheel covers?

i dont think a little chrome would be terrible. saw one a while back with just the stack and mirrors, along with gloss paint it was almost tasteful. yes its not exactly retaining the heritage of the vehicle, but as has been said, its better than letting it rot or being scraped. too much chrome...

Torque Rods: Deuce vs. 5 ton

wimpy, wimpy, wimpy... hefty, hefty, hefty!!! too much family guy. lol. sry even given the obvious fact that the 5ton trucks are bigger its still shocking to see just how small the 5ton components make the already large 2 1/2ton parts look in comparison.

there is a mount under the rails but the springs are out side the rails. found this pic: http://www.phines.com/truck1/truck3.jpg yeah, i read that thread. i was in the air about the structural integridy of using the trailer frame under the deuce frame, i might make a frame from boxed stock...

    buy from dealer or owner?

no way, for that kinda cash they had better have replaced all the seals, changed all the fluids, new tires ( or like new), no rust, and the truck had better have options. youd be better off buying one off a private party and if it blows up youd have enof cash left to buy another. unless you...

    buy from dealer or owner?

are you mechanicly savy? if there is no kind of waranty from the dealer than i see little point. my understanding of these trucks is that they are old and require good maintenance to stay reliable, if you are able and willing to do that then the private party would be a better choice, if not...
