Wow, the whole weekend was great. Thanks to the SS members and NYPENN and all the reenactors and especially Brian and Chris fo putting on such a great show. I am very proud of recieving the award. Everyone who brought a vehicle should have a piece of it. I am especially proud that Mike got to...
We have a rifle mount in the cab of the Untouchable but the M 79 won't fit it properly and winds up on the floor. So I cleverly hung it by it's strap on the windshield knob. same as the M1 carbine with the airborne stock. All the m-60's have what appears to be a bent fencepost wrapped in tape...
What do you think? Sold mine but I am fortunate enough to convince my friend to leave his ( M 816) in my yard so "we" could restore it. Putting a new clutch in it right now. Should be finished with it soon . It is also getting the paint job it deserves. It sure looks good in the yard. I never...
Ft Drum ride through history
He papa bear,
Although ya'll can't get much farther north than Drum, It ain't like the rest of the north when ya get up there. Mostly regular folks and a lot of red necks to boot. ****, I'm gonna be there. Hop to see ya in Ky if ya can't make it though. Vinny
Yohan, What would you be looking to get for the 5 ton dropsode body? I own the Untouchable Guntruck and did the fabrication on Satan'a lil Angel. The gunbox on the Untouchale is not the correct one. I am almost finished with all the mechanical work on the chassis and now I want to rebuild the...
I bought one from Harbor freight and it was a piece of junk. I almost lost a couple fingers. The biggest one they sell is not strong enough for a truck trans. Use the chainfall on a tanker bar through the winshield ( open it first and use a "c" clamp to prevent it from sliding) I use a shackle...
Just to step in here rather late, but On the Untouchable and Satans lil Angel, and on the Ace of Spades , We are all M54's with the Multifuel engine so it realy isn't much help to you. The multifuel engine redlines at 2600 or so and the cummins tach's out at 2100. We swapped out the...
Yep, you'r too fat for the truck, sell it to me and i will use my fat gut as a cruise control. Don't listen to all those who tell you to loose weight. You can always ride in the back
Well now, Funny you should ask about melted pistons. My Five ton Guntruck " Untouchable" had the fuel tuned up and it smoked plenty since I owned it. On the last trip out to CArlisle, I had the govenor blow up and when we fixed that we started it up and oil was spewing from the exhaust. My...
It is the recepticle for a military style droplight. It was most usually found uder the dash of five ton's and a wrecker I once had. It is single prong outlet. It is 24v only. Finding a drop light with the black out shields is harder to find. It is not for any kind of brake controller!
Sorry guys but the Untouchable will not be at the MTA show this year. The new Pyro has been installed and it is a new experience for me. I have always been able get more power and speed out of a truck by running out the rpms before shifting and feeling how the truck runs. never broke an...
Hey Papabear, We will be there with the Untouchable sans towbar. It is a fair trip OTR but I am fairly confident we will arrive in one piece this year. The mechanics of the truck are all rebuilt. Gonna score some new tires for the drivers and a couple new batteries at the MTA show this month...
Do your self a favor and get the adaptors and filters from JaTonka. Then you won't have leaks and no more mess when changing the oil and the filters are redily avaiable. It really is worth the investment. Also I just got a couple radiators back from the shop and learned something good enough...
I would like to take the Untouchable Guntruck there also, but we are going to Ft Drum on the 12/14 th of June. Don't think I could make both. Financialy be too much. I sure do want to get more guntruck exposure but NY is sure a **** of a lot more spread out than Jersey. We are now out of the...
I just posted a reply but I can't find it, so here is the latest news on The Untouchable. My nephew is installing the pyro on it this weekend. The one he ordered came 12V powered. Now the problem is getting it to run on the 24V system. His solution is to run wires off only one battery to a...
Well, The new pyro is going on this week. I will start a new phase of driver retraining for me. I have always been a pedal to the metal guy. I always try to get as much power and torque out of my engine. I don't try to abuse them but I do believe in making them work. So I now have to relearn...
My nephew is installing a pyromonometer on my M54. He ordered one and they sent an electric model that is twelve volts. He is now looking for a 24volt Solinoid. He said that if he takes the power form one 12v battery and runs it through the solinoid, it will come out twelve volts and still be...
lOCKED UP BRAKES
jUST LIKE JTONKA SAID, CHECK THE RIGHT FRONT GLAD HAND. THAT IS WHERE THE AIR SYSTEM RELEASES AIR WHEN YOU REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE. IT SOME TIMES LOOKS CLEAR BUT STUFF AND CRITTERS HAVE A WAY OF CLOGGING IT UP. JUST REMOVE IT ALTOGETHER AND CHECK INSIDE THE ORIFICE TO...
Hey Driver, You for got to mention you were in an Uncovered and fully displayed Guntruck up 5 th Ave in NYC. No one had a problem with that either; did they? Both the Untouchable and Satan's Lil Angel have run all over the east coast with our guns on. I do admit that most times, I run between...
