How well does AC in the MTVR work?

Two slightly different scans. Note there are some differences in the AC kits and these both seem like slightly older versions of the instructions.

What have you done to your MTVR today?

Looks pretty solid. There seems to be some funky wiring going on by the pedals and in one of the engine shots. Looking at the volt meter it may very well just be batteries. Good to see "Runs" written on the hood.

    Alternate Alternator Selection

It's been a while so take with a grain of salt, but I thought there were two standards for pad mounts and we have the mounting holes for both.

    Looking to Purchase an LMTV

Sound like the right choice. Even with a great example, there are still tons of maintenance items to tackle.

He won't get a straight answer because there isn't a straight solution. Depends on the state your carrier which person you call. I called progressive to try to insure mine and they said they absolutely cannot do it, then I happen to mention USAA and then the situation apparently changed, they...

    FMTV 6x6 cage bolts.

You need short ones for the cans where the shock won't allow the longer ones. You could have only short ones if you wanted.

    MTVR ECM Configure File

Not really able to find any difference in the "armored" vs normal flash files. Haven't been able to find the "updated" files that avoid the battery issue. Descriptions: 2294351: C12 Truck Software. 2000 MY 355/410@2100 1350/1550@1200 HWT_1.80.6.1_PROD MTVR CTIS MT apr02, interlock=18...

    MTVR ECM Configure File

Found some more info. Wonder what the difference in the armored flashes is? The only thing I can find about the change from 220-4351 to 220-4352 is the 4352 is called "clean power". Found this document on the "armored" flash files. I would assume both the non-armored have the same issue...

Have an FMTV, how is the MTVR in comparison?

Just too bad shipping is going to be around 4K since I'm about a thousand miles away.

    Looking to Purchase an LMTV

I didn't find my MTV bad in the snow, live on a steep hill in WI. It's a heavy truck but probably the long wheelbase, 6x6 help compared to the lmtv though. I could climb the hill that many neighbors had their cars stuck at the bottom.

    From fire truck to MTV

Another weekend trip in the books. This one was about 1.5 hours away. Started off by seeing the CTIS constantly trying to adjust to HWY. The front QRV was hissing air, indicating the front wheels valves weren't closing. This caused an imbalance in the front and two rear axles. I just unplugged...

New CTIS issue on a trip.

I have gotten the "between modes" dual lights before. Wasn't with this situtation. I went through and checked the QRV - had a tiny bit of crud in it(cleaned it out) but that was it. Took apart the wheel valves and noticed a little silicon grease migrated from the outer lip inward so maybe that...

New CTIS issue on a trip.

I'm remembering when I got the truck this QRV was missing...there was a mud dobber nest in the tube going to the front. I pulled out the dirt and flushed it out but maybe the remaining crud screwed up the new valve (old valve from Midwest)

New CTIS issue on a trip.

CTIS is set at 85 PSI on an MTV, after filling and the light going solid, the quick release valve going between the front axle and the two rear axles, the one that's mounted next to the transmission on the frame rail, remains open draining the front tires down a bit before it closes. This...

    Double alternator

No reason you couldn't, but you would want one rated for weather exposure in that case. Also perhaps to be able to remove those large gauge 12v cables.

    From fire truck to MTV

Used this kit (The universal 2.0 version) https://www.mgbrakes.com/products Would have like to use the direct mount master cylinder version, but they said it wouldn't fit. Basically I'm just using the service brake airline from the truck and it feeds into an air cylinder that has a cable...

    From fire truck to MTV

Took out the front coil springs, this leveled the truck and made for a better ride. A1R only had those spring for future armor so without it, it was overly stiff. Had a check engine light today, cat et showed a high voltage on the boost sensor. $280 for the sensor and a lot of fighting I got a...
