    Ether cylinder, part number

Haven't found it referenced anywhere. Best I can tell it's this https://koldban.com/product/20030-single-dieselmatic-ether-cylinder/ Can anyone confirm? My truck is missing it and will be arriving....sometime this winter and in Wi so I'd like to have the ether system working.

    FMTV brake canister diaphragm replacement.

Did my fronts, super easy to do. Did use a wire wheel to knock down the sharp pieces of glue. Fronts were in great shape, not a single crack anywhere. May just keep a few spares and not worry about changing the rears.

Thoughts on removing coil springs on A1R

Spring was easy to cut with the cutoff wheel, just watch out when it lets go, you might fracture the cutting disc. Requires 2 cuts to release pressure, second cut has almost no tension, then you can screw the springs together and a few whacks with a hammer you can take it all apart. Easy...

    FMTV brake canister diaphragm replacement.

@GeneralDisorder did you glue the diaphragms back to the plunger? Wasn't expecting that when I opened mine up and noticed they were glued to it

Thoughts on removing coil springs on A1R

Well, they are off! Not too bad to remove, They ended up being stroked out with just a tiny bit of compression still left after jacking the tire off the ground from a point on the frame. I was easily able to tap the bolts out in this position with little resistance. I measured before and...

    Cheap CTIS diaphrams

All the seals (orings and sealing washers) are off the shelf and I've seen people paying $15 for the diaphrams. You can get them much cheaper and they are factory originals. I've used quite a few. https://www.pgttruckparts.com/599805-Eaton-Diaphragm-Seal-p/2264-599805.htm

What have you done to your MTVR today?

Okay I saw that one(or one just like it) :) glad it worked out for you!

What have you done to your MTVR today?

Mine is in process, hope it arrives soon. Glad yours was only simple stuff, I wasn't brave enough to go with a non runner. Sure is a shame the auction process and how almost no effort is put in. Didn't want to deal with a blown engine or tranny. Do you mind sharing the auction? Curious how they...

    Looking to Purchase an LMTV

My advice(because the other guys covered everything else), do not buy from Midwest Military Equipment. Expensive, they do some maintenance and paint but major issues are left untouched.

    MTVR ECM Configure File

Seems like CAT SIS doesn't show part numbers for military serial numbers. I have to make guesses with my C7 as it reports the serial number isn't in the system. Not sure the best way to compare?

    MTVR ECM Configure File

Not sure the validity, but finding some indications the 505 tune is designed for engines with some modifications, including Jake changes, piston rings, oil jets. https://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php?topic=1381.0

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

He provides a great service. I already rebuilt my originals and they were in great shape - except for the hoses. I wish we had a source for those.

Put in my review, will see if it ever pops up.

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

Wish there was a reasonably priced source out there. I dislike the chunky elbow, but they work so I'm okay with it. I'm okay with companies making aftermarket options but this is like the 3rd time I've been burned by Midwest ... You'd think I would learn. Unfortunately all the other CTIS seem to...

    From fire truck to MTV

Had another trip this weekend, I'll start with the highlights...the negatives piss me off and are at the bottom. Wonderful state park with very dark skies, some river crossings, incredible silence with no road noise. Kids found a friend and rode bikes, had wrestling matches, cooked smores. Had...

Dealing with issues due to half-assed CTIS engineering.

Replaced all my CTIS wheel valve assemblies with these: https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/replacement-ctis-wheel-rim-valve-air-hose-assembly/ From the outside they looked like NOS units and I didn't inspect too closely. They certainly looked good, the hoses were the correct length, high...

    From fire truck to MTV

Replaced the gaskets on the oil cooler to avoid the potential for filtered oil mixing with non. Turbo shaft was smooth as could be with no play. Since it's not yellow I'm guessing it was replaced at some point. Installed some gas springs on both pass through doors. Door to habitat was coated...

Have an FMTV, how is the MTVR in comparison?

If anyone sees issues, let me know so I can start collecting parts.
