The mystery is sorta solved. One of the guys at work took a picture of my truck the day the hood came up. The latches were unhooked so I still couldn't figure out why it didn't come up on the way to work. We reviewed the video cameras by the generator farm and found that someone unhooked them...
Anyone put a safety latch from an A2 on the A3? I am trying to find a better hold down solution so when I get a new hood or repair mine I don't have a repeat of the issue.
Its a composite. I am still considering trying to fix it myself or to take it to a bodyshop to fix it. I am not a very good body/fiberglass worker so I am kinda leaning toward having someone else fix it if the pricing is about the same as a replacement.
It has been was windy for the past two days and I was on my way BACK home from work. The latches were hooked! I checked them before I took the truck out yesterday when I checked the oil, coolant etc. I drive my truck alot and I do a walk around while the truck is warming up for 10 to 15 mins. I...
Had a hood latch failure on the Deuce today. A big wind gust hit going across the bridge and ripped the hood up over the roof. Can't see anything with that big thing up there.
Now the search begins for a new hood. The fun part was there wasn't a shoulder there and trucks were rolling by me at...
I know that. I don't believe I called it an injection pump. I am looking for a filter assembly to keep the pump from getting junk in it and help keep the fuel clean.
Is that a complete assembly or just a filter? I was thinking about getting a 33641 assembly with a 30 micron and mounting it low on the driverside firewall.
I am thinking about adding a prefilter to the fuel system on my A3. The only filter in the system is after the pump but before the injectors. I am considering adding a filter before the pump to keep crud out of the pump and to help keep cleanup the fuel that is recirculated to the tank. Has...
Just pull the driveshaft now. Its easy to do and you will need to do it anyway to pull the drum off for reassembly. I fought with mine for a while and just pulled the drum, put the brake assembly on it and then put the assembly back in. Remember you will get some gear oil from the transfer case...
I just had my parking brake shoes relined and picked them up yesterday. I bought the lining and rivets and had a local company install them for only $60, and will be reinstalling them this weekend. One thing I would suggest is to also replace the return and moustache springs while you are...
I may be able to make it, but if I do I won't have my truck. I am still waiting on the replacement studs to arrive and it looks like they will be here some time next week.
The one I have and the one shown for the A3 both indicate using the turnbuttons. That's why I was asking about them. I found a place that has them for $1.83 each and that's not bad compared to the price they want at canvas shops. I will probably be buying them from there.
I can't seem to find a source for the turnbuttons that hold the arctic cover on the grill. I bought a cover and its unfortunately for an A2, but it will work. I need to get the turnbuttons to mount the cover on the front of the truck. Anyone know of a good source for these?
Thanks

My parking brake wasn't holding so I started checking that out. Found a broken return spring and the cable is jammed up in the sheath. It was an adventure getting that apart. I won't drive it until I get the parking brake fixed so hopefully the parts I ordered will be here soon.
