    Rear PTO Leak

Gringletaube, Thanks for the info. Just to clarify it seems to be leaking up high and dripping all over the parking brake.. guess that won't stop me now.. not that it would anyway.. I'll keep an eye on the level, I think it's leaking out the shaft right at the end M16ty, thanks for the add'l...

    Rear PTO Leak

Thanks MT16, I didn't just take anything behind the seat.. There is a tank mounted there that held the extra fluid that went into this PTO. right next to where I added it manually. They cut off the connection I guess when they bobbed it. Based on what you are saying I suppose the oil in there...

    I've searched 12 volts........

crazywelder, Sewerzuk has a pretty good thread called "everything I did to my deuce right here" he goes over a few options of 12v conversions. I like the way he did his.. I think it addresses your concerns. Not sure if you read that one.. it's a long one but great!

    Rear PTO Leak

ODdave.. I have never gotten it engaged.. I tried it a few times putting the lever in the cab all the way down all the way up.. nothing. When the engine is off and I put it up, if I try to turn the coupling it does not turn, in any other position it spins freely, so I assume up is engaged...

Oily stuff coming out of Air Tanks..

I have been getting used to draining the air tanks after I turn off the Deuce.. The last two times I noticed this oily stuff coming out. Yes that is the correct technical term. It smells like Aaaa.. uhh pond water.. Has no taste.. yeah did that. I recently rebuilt the MC and Airpack and was...

    Rear PTO Leak

Phil, I may consider that.. I heard it's a rare and possibly valuable piece. One less thing to leak. However I was thinking of putting on a dump bed in the future, not sure if I could use that PTO to run it. I am in no rush to do anything at this time.. but you never know.. Just want to make...

    Rear PTO Leak

OK, so here I am gearing up for a nice 35 mile ride to work tomorrow as the guys want to see the Deuce. I am checking everything and notice a pretty good wet spot on the ground under the rear PTO which is not hooked up to anything. My Deuce used to be a fire truck so the rear PTO was used for...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks for the vid Valence! Sounds great.. I needed a closeup of the mirrors on that side as I just got a new set like that to replace my missing one.. Needed to see where all the rods go. Perfect! Thanks!! And to keep with the thread.. I drove the heck out of my Deuce this weekend, now that...

Cheep easy portable pump i made

Here is what I start with. 400 down to 75mic into the drum, the pail has the bottom cut out obviously. Duda Diesel has these and they're cheap! I let gravity do the dirty work. Gets water out too!, the water just sits on top.

    CLEANING DATA PLATES

An old thread but I wanted to add my cleaning method. I had allot of CARC overspray on my data plates, allot.. Sorry no before pics.. I took off the hard stuff with a razor blade at a very flat angle to the plates.. carefully which did not damage the plates, did it on a few of them. For the...

    oil pressure gauge quit

Mine only works when I tap on the side of the gauge. It reads normal for a little bit till it quits and then I have to tap on it again. Thought I would ask here since it's a similar issue. Anyone have this problem?

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

Scott, on mine the piston push rod had a slit at the top of it. I was able to hold that with a screwdriver and turn the nut and it came off. You could also put the pushrod (Not piston itself) in a vice with "soft jaws" as to not scratch the rod. If you don't have soft jaws I used in the past...

Newbie doing his research has questions

5 micron is enough for filtration. Some guys go lower than that but the M35a2 only filters down to 10 I believe. I think the primary is 15 and the secondary and final is 10.. I am going to go down to 5 and mix 50:50 WMO/Diesel mix. I heard of people burning out their fuel pumps with the...
