I don't think I have any fuel pressure though. After cranking the engine a bunch after the filter replacement, I still wasn't getting any significant smoke out of the exhaust. If anything, less and less. And when I removed the plug in that port on the secondary filter housing, zero fuel came...
I don't think the pump is pumping. So I tried priming the system using a vacuum brake bleeder but I don't think I'm doing it right. This is per the TM which says to pull a vacuum from one of the ports on the secondary fuel filter housing. Of course, there is a special tool designed for this, but...
Replaced the fuel filter today. Old one (2020) was about 3/4 full upon removal, but also rusty inside. I traced the supply line from the tank and I guess someone bypassed the fuel/water separator at some point cause I can't find it. The fuel goes straight from the tank to the pump then to this...
Here are two more starting attempt videos:
Also, for what it's worth, when I take the air filters out and spray ether in for 2-3 seconds, the engine does fire right up for a second, but then dies.
Thanks so much for all the suggestions.
I'm only seeing pipe plugs, so I assume there is no flapper in there?

Pass side:
Is this the solenoid? If so, it is fully retracted. I'm able to rotate the lever it's attached to a bit but against spring pressure.
The tank is...
We had a ton of rain yesterday going into today, so I couldn't really mess with it. I'm going to dive into it tomorrow.
I'll also charge the batteries to full.
I'm also wondering if it's worth installing a block heater? If so, I see a couple types available for 8V92. One installs in the water...
The factory ether shot device doesn't work but I will try spraying some regular starter fluid into the intake.
I'll check for the shutdown damper too. Is that what is being activated when I press the 'engine off' toggle switch? It just blocks air flow to the engine?
View of the exhaust on today's attempt. 43°F today. Once again, you can hear it want to catch, but then doesn't. I guess it's getting fuel since we see smoke.
Those talking about the shutdown air damper - what & where is that?
Thanks everyone.
It has not been sitting. I drove it 3 days prior. Ran fine then.
It does smoke quite a bit while cranking. Didn't really pay attention to the color. Sort of grey, maybe a little blue? I'll check again tomorrow; I'll take a video.

All of a sudden my M978 HEMTT w/ 8V92 diesel won't start. It cranks over fine and on the first turn it will sort of cough or sputter a little like it wants to go, but then it just goes cold. If I wait a minute and try again, I get the same result - a tiny sign of...
Anyone know how to adjust HEMTT front wheels / steering alignment? I have a side-to-side shimmy when out on the highway and I think it's because the two sets of front wheels aren't aligned very well. When the truck is parked straight you can visibly see the wheels not quite pointed in the same...
Any idea why my M978 HEMTT is leaking transmission fluid from the breather vent on top of the trans while running?
I'll be driving the truck, come to a stop, and it will be dripping down the side of the trans, onto the axle, and onto the ground. It's enough that it's a problem (I don't want to...
Turns out it was something to do with the unloader valves in the air compressor. We bought a rebuild kit and threw it in and now everything works as it should. I think one of the little springs in there was busted.
This was back in May. I just forgot to update this thread until now.
Also, this...
We replaced the governor and air dryer purge valve since both were cheap so why not. The bad noise (from my last post) went away. The truck built around 100-120psi and we heard the automatic air release. All seemed well. But then we went to drive the truck and noticed the air pressure was now...
