14 is the width of the tire as in footprint.
20 is the diameter of the rim as viewed like a clock face.
eta: Overall diameter isn't given in the "size" of the tire. The size of the tire is just to let you know whether or not it will fit on your rims, I think.
here's a site with some known...
Hey M-35tom,
Would you mind posting a picture of your setup with the belts installed? I'm having trouble figuring out your setup without seeing the belts on...
where does one get a ldt-465 engine container and how much do they normally run?
I've got a spare, good engine sitting on blocks in an A2 bed with a tarp over it. Not the best situation for long term storage...
Have you ever considered replacing the ldt-465 with an electric motor?
Think of all the battery capacity you could cram in the bed! And all the area on top of that for solar panels, too!
It could be like a miniature star wars sandcrawler... only moves 7 mph, but it never has to stop. :driver:
Right, I addressed that. I'm not talking about mileage for a given road speed, but rather mileage for a given engine speed.
12 ain't bad. About what was your average engine rpm, westech?
Brakes might just need to be given fluid and bled of air. Also, you could have some wheel cylinders with light surface rust causing them to stick.
That can be fixed by putting some air pressure on the system. Just get some fittings, tube, and a regulator to hook your deuce cab air supply...
I'm talking about two otherwise identical trucks, both running at 2100 engine rpm.
How much of a fuel mileage disadvantage does the 395 have from being somewhat wider than the 1100r20s?
What kind of fuel mileage are you guys in your singled out deuces getting?
LO states it should be 1/2" from the bottom of the fill hole when cold. Even with the fill hole when hot.
As for what type, I went with the walmart stuff in the blue 1 gallon bottles. 80w90 GL5 I think it was.
Why would the compressor get hotter for any other reason than it's working for longer periods of time?
And no, I don't have all the electrical details worked out on doing AC in a deuce. Do you have any actual constructive advice to offer? "A/C in a deuce is stupid!" doesn't count.
I plan to seal everything I can with homemade gaskets out of RTV.
But just for the sake of argument... how would the cab being unsealed and uninsulated make the compressor work "harder?" It would have to work longer to cool down the cab, sure. But, it's not like an electric motor where it has...
could just be the brake light switch.
There's two different kinds. One that hooks up to the air pack and the other that hooks up to the master cylinder. His truck will have one or the other.
If that's all it is, it's a pretty simple fix.
ok, I realize this is slightly off topic...
The evaporator coil on my 2001 chrysler concorde is leaking. So it'll go a good 10 days or so and then need more refrigerant. The real BUMMER is that in order to replace the evap coil, the ENTIRE DASH has to come out. That's like 9 hours of labor...
well, there was a place just about next door that had a brass replacement with a quick release valve on it. Seems kind of pointless for this application, but I guess over the road commercial truckers who have to change their differential oil alot might like that little convenience.
$33 freakin...
Bend down a little bit and reach for the floor with your right hand. You can't miss it.
All the way down is low. Pull up to the middle stop and it's in neutral. Pull up again to the next stop and it'll be in high. It should be just about touching the passenger bench seat when it's in high.
Not really.
It's just a different application that there isn't much market for. Consequently, they haven't invested time and money into it since their only large-scale buyer decided they don't need a multifuel capability any longer.
That doesn't make the technology useless or obsolete. Can...
