I thought about the shelter and it would be the easiest but I have car seats and baby seats that need to be easily accessed while traveling or in an emergency so I need a walk through type of design. Will, I had an 84 crew crab 4x4 chevy and loved it until I blew up the turbo'd 6.2 and stuffed a...
OK, This is just one of my ideas to help simplify my life. I want to sell my 2 year old motorhome to save about $7000 a year in bills and buy a nice used camping trailer. I no longer have a family vehicle that is capable of towing a large trailer and I dont want to buy another truck so my idea...
I got my NOS grille cover off ebay for under $30 or you can get the dimensions (for air flow opening) from cranetruck for his wood winter radiator cover. The cover helps me get up to about 180 without a load otherwise Im running about 160 even in 100 degree heat.
Here's the link to the one I bought so you can see if he has any more available.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320011050432&category=33633
I'll be heading up there this coming week to work on it, I'll pull it off and take all the measurements or you can borrow it to copy. Got any locomotive pistons laying around? I've always wanted one for my garage. I once got a tour of the yard in Glendale where they rebuild the locomotive...
I found a spot on my passengers side front brake hose where it had been rubbing against the edge of the rim. Luckily I cought it quick enough and re-adjusted the spring keeper to give it proper clearance. I am going to replace it just to be safe. If there is one thing constantly going through my...
Hey Will, what kind of engine is that valve and bearing from in your avatar? Looks mighty large! I have a side scoop on my other duece that looks very easy to reproduce with sheet metal.
RE: Battery
I just bought a solargizer yesterdeay to hopefully extend the life of my 6TL's which are already 3 years old. I had one drop down to 9 volts and the truck wouldnt start a few weeks ago, got a pull start from a 1/2 ton Chevy and havent had a problem since. Anybody else install the...
I'll give the hook a try before tearing it apart. I spent a few hours yesterday getting ready for the rainy weather since it looks like "strom watch 2006" is coming on friday.
Anybody know how to get the red button to pop back out? I pressed mine in and it too quit working. I was able to get one to pop out on my other duece before by turning the air all the way up but its not working on this one.
I just sold my 68 M105A2 trailer on Ebay. My reserve was $400 and within the last 30 seconds of the auction, I had some snipers battle over it and it went for $1100! I couldnt believe it. Sounds like $500 is a fair deal if its the A2 style.
RE: Anyone ever use the aftermarket "Locking" door
I've got one on my drivers door, works great. Had to cut down the shaft to size and paint it to match. I think I paid $15.00 for it. Its mostly to keep kids from getting in and starting up the truck.
I bought mine on Ebay for 19.99, turns out it was shipped from memphis equipment. Should help out with keeping the air filter dry when driving in the rain or snow.
RE: Most places
I live at the end of a culdesac and park across the street from my house where there is a big grass area. My neighbors dont mind. However, my city has a municipal code restricting oversize vehicles parking on city streets for more than 72 hrs. The vehicle is considered...
I forgot to add the $2600 Pergo floor I just installed last week that she's been wanting. In all fairness she let me buy an H1 Wagon, a nice cj-7 jeep, and 3 extra dueces that I did not need. I have since sold all but 1 extra duece that I still need to get running. I know how it is having to...
