    new style light switch install.

Gounding this thing is critical. Without correctly grounding it, IT WILL FAIL. It must be grounded with a separate wire, not the body of the switch. They have a screw terminal on the back.

    Putting deuce to good use

Always looking for an excuse to drive he Deuce so we dropped off a bed full of brush to our local recycle yard and came back with 2 loads of a 3- 4 cubic yard bucket. Tried to use the hill and the brakes to slide out the mulch. Didn't work. Had to rake it out. Still didn't take long.

    what u guys think??

Excellent truck. Any tendency to porpoise on the road? One suggestion if I may, turn your mushroom cap 180 degrees so the flap is facing front. If you do drive in rain it minimizes rain ingestion into the air cleaner

    What goes here?

To head off a question the OD cover on the lower front of the trailer is on there to keep the sun off the two 5th wheel airbags. This trailer has airbag suspension on the two axles and the 5th wheel. The 5th wheel airbags look like new. Just trying to keep that way.

    What goes here?

Muddog, sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Here are pictures of the heating/AC units mounted to the front of a 1981 10 ton XM971 trailer. They are 203 volt 3 phase units with individual contol panels for each inside the trailer. Don't know if these work yet. Probably do. I would...

    M-818 speed question

For those running 11X20's and doing anything over 55 MPH on a continuous basis with an 800 series 5 ton be careful. You are probably doing more than 2100 RPM and as stated by many and these motors don't like that realm.

Dan, no we had a a good number of people come by. The cars were close by. Just don't see them in the background. The crowd was down a little from last year but we had many stop by. And thanks for the help with the car parts.

MVCC pics Elizabeth, CO car show

The Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado (MVCC) had a few of the bigger iron units out at the annual classic car show in Elizabeth, CO (SE of Denver) on Saturday May 2nd. Weather wasn't the greatest, about 40 and trying to rain. Good setting for the trucks. Played with the wrecker a...

    M-818 speed question

Mine 52 MPH at 2100 RPM, 11x20's. Pulling a M971 18,000 lb trailer at 6000' the truck really dies on hills.

Installed my rebuilt 250 Cummins fuel pump

Going by what the experts at Marini say, a healthy 250 at 5500' is probably putting out only around 140 HP still with gobs of torque. They bunmped out the output of the pump 15% so maybe I have 160 hp now. Pullled the 38 foot van trailer for a test and hills and even a sweet running 250 still...

Wrecker anchor spades on a M818
