There is an early version & a late version but I don't remember the year cut.
NOTE: This is in the civilian 4l80's, I don't know what the military did.
I have one with a 7 &1/2 rear lift (ord shackle flip + 2 & 1/2 springs + zero rate.
I cut shock mounts off axle tube & moved them up for better clearance.
Wow, I thought I was hiding pretty good in the first 2 pics, didn't even know you were behind me in the 3rd one.
Real clean box you found there. I sure hope you can talk Jeff into coming back over to set it in the bed when your ready.
Now get to work on that thing.
They do make adjustable lower king pins.
Matter of fact, a couple of the m1008's & m1028's that I've bought over the years had them installed from the military.
Sounds good.
I have an m1028 setup up similar on 37's
6in frt springs, greaseable everything
crossover steering (hydro assist not installed yet)
rear
4in shackle flip, 2 & 1/2in HD rear springs & a 1in zero rate
greaseable everything.
I think the rear of your truck will be slightly lower...
You can get the plug at any transmission shop.
Specs are gonna vary, there are a few different ways to do it.
I used a 2wd 4l80, tall 400 to 205 adapter (fig 8).
I had adapter machined, changed the plug & cut down the output shaft of the 4L80.
I also have the rare (91 only) factory...
Hey Sharecropper
Glad your happy with the 60 spring plates.
Did you move your axle back ?
Please reconsider putting a 700r4 in that great truck !!!
Those are rated 1/2 ton for a reason.
Hope you have some speedy recoveries.
Keep us posted on your progress.
A stock sway bar with or without disconnects won't work with "crossover" steering.
BUT in MY opinion, if you run crossover steering you NEED a trackbar.
It tightens up the steering greatly.
I haven't seen a hemtt frt axle up close but I'm GUESSING the brakes are different.
Give it a try & let us know.
Im happy with the way mine "turned" out (pun intended).
