Propane, or char or the vacuum stove with wood would be ok on side of road AFAIK as an adventuring canadian, people get excited if you move firewood from one spot to another though.

This generator is up and running now (waterpump good no play) surprised at cost of thermostat ($68 !) and has about 4 hours of run time on it. Needs a door still and is ready for duty.

Hi Mike, and others ... would you replace the waterpump when doing the head gasket? Would you buy the top-end de-carb kit for the $100 ? Waterpumps seem to be pricey, have been quoted $290 for them... How many hours should all this take to change if I was paying someone to do it?

What do they drive out of those small rolling doors? Golf carts? That is very tight space, a fence could help (even a couple 8 ft sections, but will reflect all the noise back to you

I had a dead fuel pump (primary) on the 831a. 23v at the connector for pump (after cranking for no-start) and no noise, no tick, no thump from the facet. I'm guessing it is done. Is there any other replacement aside from the facet? Best price I could find was here...

Just to go back to reason for failure on factory slc100 - is this confirmed as being a moisture penetration into the pots? So, your prototype will avoid this as it will not have pots?
