How is tire wear or drivability any worse than a bobbed deuce? I cut 3' off my truck, wheelbase is 130" and it drives great. I guess jeeps and early broncos are designed to kill.
I've got less than $600 in my full hydro system on my deuce (All the parts where brand new). I do have to replace the orbital valve due to the fact that the steering is too fast for my liking, so factor another $400 for a new valve built to my specs. My truck is bobbed on 1600's both axles are...
My rubber one piece boots only lasted about 2 weeks. I will never buy the cheapest ones I can find, ever again. The one piece silicone boots from ouverson made it 3 years on my rockcrawlers with no issue. Lesson learned.
It's possible, I'm sure the suspension would have to be modified. If you flip the chucks in the front axle's it gets the driveline within 2" of center, so the drive shafts would hook right up. I've done this on my past 2 crawlers.
I'm a huge fan of rear steer, but that seems like a bunch of...
I'll get some better overall pics of the bed and the rear fairlead for the winch. I also got some led headlights and aux. lights all mounted up
center console with ammo can, cup holders and a spot for toggles
I had a terrible vibration at various speeds, ended up being both u joints on the front drive shaft. U joints are hard to diagnose, they can cause a number of different noises and vibrations.
I replaced every fuel and air line on my deuce with parker serviceable hose and fittings. I'm not a fan of the copper lines, I had a couple crack and get pin holes due to rubbing. Now I carry extra hose on the truck and know I can fix it on the side of the road with simple tools.
I've busted a 208 tcase, I had 3 cracked cases at my shop in the past. It's actually common when you take them off road a lot. Other that the stock front outputs 205's take a beating and ask for more.
I don't see why not, it's no different than installing air bags on a lowered truck. They have no problems with dot around here. All hiems should have a seal, they are usually injected with Teflon. They hold up to off road use very well.
Sad but true, consider yourself lucky, at least he hasn't demanded to know what you do and how long you've done it, lol. Us youngsters will never learn.
Here is the definition of a locking differential http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locking_differential Proof that your wrong. A Detroit becomes a spool when it's locked and stays locked if input is supplied after it locks, that's why it barks the tires around turns just like a spool. Your...
You hit the nail on the head. I'm guessing the only differential that can be called a locker is a Detroit? I never said any vehicles came with DETROIT LOCKERS, I said LOCKERS, as in a LOCKING differential.
