Here's an M37 on a Suburban straight axle frame.

Too big for me.
I like this one. Apparently he shortened the long side of the D60 by 3" and is using National springs. The perches appear to be factory Dodge hardware?1953...
I think a new, custom length 4340 axle shaft goes for about $300. Taking the front housing in to get one tube shortened might be about $200. If you ask around your local hot rod club you might find out where a good reputable place may be. I can see how some MV fans may want keep the track width...
Steve,
Haha...your right. Thanks for catching that. Not sure how I put that info down, as I have three M1028's sitting in my backyard. I've gone back and made the corrections to my errored post. aua

Warn Industries - Vehicle Profile: Max-Bilt's 53M-TRV
For the rear I think a 14ff from a cab and chassis would be good at 63" wms.

You can also consider Interco Tire Q78-16 (9:00-16 equivalent) Swamper TSL:
TSL Bias | Interco Tire
Available at many of the bigger 4x4 outlets such as 4wheelpars wholesalers.
I must say those are some of the nicest looking units I've seen. Too bad I'm so far away (and in the rust belt where you can't find bodies like that ).
Ok, so the rear 14ff is 4.56 with Detroit Locker.
I searched but didn't find the answer about the front Dana 60. Were the m1031 cab and chassis models open fronts or trac-loks (like the M1028 models)?
PWB, what tires are you going to run with that 454 and 4.56 gears?
Have you seen this $129 Serpentine kit?
Big block Chevy serpentine conversion kit
Any big advantage to going serpentine?
Yep, that's where I got mine too. They also have a good deal on Dana 60 front axle inner and outer wheel bearing rebuild kit (one inner bearing and race, one outer bearing and race, and seal for $44 per side - ie. $88 to do one front end both sides). Parts were all Timken.
