    1984 D30 M1008 Project

Make sure you get the correct fuel/lift pump. The correct part number is Delphi chfp906. Delphi mf30030 will NOT work.

    Brake issue, ideas welcome

^^what he said... Just to be on the safe side, flush out all of the old brake fluid and clean the lines. Ya never know if someone may have mixed DOT 3 with DOT 5 fluid...

What’s that ticking sound on the passenger side?

Could be a lifter if the oil is low..

    Chevy PTO winch

Cool idea, but lotsa work and a lot of extra weight added to the front springs. Lol, I added an old school Warn 8274 to my 86 M1008 and I could feel the weight difference in the front.

FNG, first CUCV. What to do first...

Top priority.... the balancer may look okay, but that rubber is dried and hardened thus vastly reducing it's ability to function properly. Old balancers will destroy these engines. Just plan on replacing anything that's rubber...

    New to the game

Welcome aboard! Your M1028 more than likely came with an NP208..... An NP205 is markedly stronger than a NP208, but the ole 208 holds up just fine. It has a 2:62-1 low range which I prefer over the 1:96-1 low in the 205.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Buddy of mine bought my 74 K10 that had the oddball SM465/NP203 combo. Well the frame had a kink in it where it meets the firewall on the passenger side. It bent the bellhousing. He hasn't been able to find one...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

You can buy a new aftermarket bellhousing from Novak... they're not cheap, but at least you will get a brand new unit without the risks of bends or cracks from an OEM unit that has seen better days.

    TrueTrac Differential..

I'll take the red clay mud instead of sand lol Now south Ga does have sand, but I'm in the NW part of the state where it's all red clay dirt and rocks. We get the slightest bit of rain and it gets slicker than owl 💩 lol

    TrueTrac Differential..

Thx.. I don't foresee doing any rock crawling with a stock suspension M1008 lol. Down here in Ga we rarely ever get snow, so not much of a concern. If it ices up, I'm staying at the house... I do go over rocks, but nothing too big. Down here in Ga there's no shortage of inclines with rocks, red...
