Same with my 85 M1008. I have no idea what it was set at prior to me owning it. And I've never touched it. I just know that after changing fuel filters and running Hot Shot cleaner every time I refueled, the engine came to life and rattled all of the time. I can be running 55mph and I can still...
I ordered a 5/16 150ft winch line last Monday, paid for 2 day shipping and it FINALLY arrived today. Hopefully I'll get it spooled onto the OLD Warn 8274 by the weekend.
FYI- DON'T waste your money on overnite or 2-day shipping. Nobody has the manpower to do that at the moment...
Didn't do anything but drive it..
Took the 86 M1008 to help some friends put up some deer stands. Afterwards I did a lil bit of exploring on the logging roads. Went down a stair step descent with burms bulldozed into it to prevent water erosion. Got to the bottom and a dude on a 4 wheeler...
If my 85 M1008 didn't rattle like a metal trash can full of rocks, I'd think something was wrong... it also runs very well for a 6.2 diesel.
A 6.2 is going to rattle a lil bit. If it's not something ain't right
Changing a lift pump on a 6.2 diesel is the same method as the fuel pump on a SBC and BBC. It's just more difficult on the 6.2 because it's very close to the cross member
Yes I had the exhaust done 4yrs ago right after I bought it. The old pipes were rotted and fell off.
Just think of a combination of a Glasspack and a whoopie cushion for exhaust tone😆
The exhaust on the 💩box truck; no idea who made the mufflers, but they only have metal baffles similar to a Flowmaster. It sounds like a never ending fart under acceleration...
Got the 86 M1008 on the alignment rack yesterday. They got it as close as they could. At least I'm not fighting the steering wheel anymore lol
*this old 💩box truck is a level of fugly that I'm quite proud of😆
I would think that if you back off the adjuster, it'll slide right off.
The drums n shoes for a 86 should be the same..
**when ordering parts for any CUCV, always spec 1984 regardless of the year model you have
If it ain't broke, don't fix it...
Having said that, the filter housing on my 85 M1008 started leaking and we replaced with a fuel filter system from a Duramax truck. It werks..
To be honest, I liked the original filter set up better...
There is a unmaintained county road that goes westbound through the WMA and into Ala. The rangers cannot fine anyone for being on a county road. Rule of thumb; if it shows up on gps, you're safe.
On the far northern end of Treat Mtn road there used to be what looked like a big ole puddle. Nope...
Yes I am well aware.... the rangers in the Talladega Forest are doing the same thing with anyone going off of the county dirt roads
As long anyone stays on the county roads that show up on gps, it's good to go.
Btw, ever been swimming in Frog Pond along cr 202 in Ala?😂
