Second annual Christmas tree trip! This time the front battery jiggled loose and had a little party. Ended up falling into to the upper heater core hose, wearing a small hole and creating quite a bit of havoc. A lot of duct tape on the hose, a spare nut on the battery hold down and we were...
I should have gotten stock in LMC...great headlights. Replacing the original wiring harness with the heavy duty version is really a good idea.
Aiming wasn't too bad. The replacement screw things from a local parts store were junk...ended up using the originals after some thorough cleaning...
For what its worth, I set out on the same mission as well. After at least 3 rolls of the roofing repair stuff on the interior firewall, inside of doors, inside lining of the dash, inside of the tailgate, and installation of some interior plastic from a Junk yard Jimmy also then lined with more...
I have the same issue...have had no troubles at all but I can tell there is no afterglow occuring. With the exception of the thermistor, everything checks out.
This is a great thread. The discussions regarding the GP system here are exactly why some many come to this forum. Outstanding...
My son and I actually washed the M1009. First time in several months! Been driving her two to three times a week, she's not too keen on the elevation around here but doing pretty well. Seems to smoke a little more...
From many places really, most recently Orygun. It was quite a trip down here. Right during the heat wave in Northern California, Nevada and Arizona. The ole 1009 did great though...not fast but reliable. Good to meet you neighbor!
Allenhillview - Nice set up! I like the switches!
Cajun - yep...nearly every time I log in here my project board gets cloudy and jumbled...But that is what makes these rigs so great!
Marcus has a very valid point. The referred to earlier is a good one too. Here is another option that has been referred to before in the CUCV forum. When I started my project I too, realized that a source of safe, reliable 12v was needed beyond the old fuse box. So, some web trolling for...
Front speakers? I installed the pre-fab kick panels from an online company that starts with a c and rhymes with hutchfield.
Took some minor trimming...and Krylon's plastic paint in espresso. Installed in them are Kenwood 6.5" mid/woofers and 2" tweeters. Sounds very good, not much of a bass...
Hmm, I've been thinking over the turbo too. Read through the Diesel Pages vol 1, and keeping an eye open for a Banks unit and also the GM unit that was discussed in another thread here.
So with the stock 3 speed CUCV tranny, how are the RPMs at highway speed...again, I have no plans of...
Well sir, I have to say after having this hobby for a little over two years and one of the first thing I did was a 12 volt conversion...I must say everything I wanted to do was easier afterwards. The addition of a strong and reliable "in cab" secondary 12 accessory panel was much easier (could...
My apologies if this is a dumb question...but the transmission is not my area of expertise. Here it is....if one installs the NV4500 does that allow the 6.2 to hold a highway speed on some of those longer, higher hills or allow it to drop down into a better gear to hold say 55 or 60 on those...
Could one install one of these:

with wiring leading into each position with a resistor such as you described with a resister like this:

If I...
