Well, good question. As a total amateur with only a couple years experience on this...and a mechanic that I trust...I have left the switch unplugged. It is neatly tied back in case I need to put it back, but it is not plugged in. I have driven this rig nearly daily, stopped and started on...
I did, and there was a great pic in there of the bolts going straight down from the top of roof. There is a plate giving more support to the bolts in the picture I am referring to. Great idea. I am looking to place the Thule brand mounts on the upper side of the fiberglass top a couple of...
Thanks! Checking the data plate, there is nothing in the space for Date of Manufacture. Bummer, that would be nice to know.
The wheels are big, I like the military look and would rather not replace them if I don't have too. The issue will be finding a spare.
I heard something about these...
Good day,
I just picked up a very basic M116 trailer with a steel deck. The pintle has been removed and replaced with a two inch standard ball hitch assembly and the whole thing was painted some green color. Most of the paint came off with a good pressure washing. The rest of the unit looks...
I bought this addition to the collection. A very basic M116. It has a 6x8 steel deck with the two front posts and several stake sleeves along each side. I don't have a lot of information on it, still learning.
I will be used as a camping gear trailer with the occasional load of mulch or...
Good question...I don't really know what kind of weight they would support. 50 - 70 lbs probably. I'll end up with chain and probably ammo in them once in awhile. Otherwise they will lock up stuff I don't want visible while at trails, etc.
They are only 36 inches deep and roll out just...
Hmm, good point. I like that set up too. Well, I already own the darn Thule racks so, the re-user in me wants to keep on using them. I do like the stock look of the rack you have on the link though.
So if you went through two and three "layers" in the top, was there a risk of cracking the...
Mainsail, thanks for the reply. I am referring to the fiberglass hard top part. I may put one of the Thule bars/towers up front but will more likely put the pair over the rear hard top. With the option of over the cab and the hard top, that gives me much more distance to load up a kayak...
I've been considering installing a false rain gutter kit from Thule. Then I can use the roof rack I already have on the hard top.
Question is...isn't there hollow space between two layers on the upper side part of the hard top? From the inside, it looks like it's pretty "thick." I'm pretty...
Ok, here are some pictures of the drawer with rollers on the top, rear both sides...
Then small rollers, two pairs. Each pair are on each side of the floor about 8 inches apart. The floor portion they are mounted into is like the rest of the box, 1" marine grade plywood. The floor extending...
Dyocis, FYI, there are no drawer sliders as one would imagine on the truck vault model. What i mean by this is that the drawers roll out on wheels/ rollers mounted to the floor of the box. I'll get some pictures for you soon. I think this is the secret to the strength of the drawers. They are...
Wow! There are still some good ones out there!! I cant believe how little rust, great find!! We'll enjoy seeing you spiff this on up a bit. Doesn't seem to need much!!
Only input i have is local. They do great work!

Mine was far too gone from the previous owner's "bio-fuel". Ugh. Had to buy a rebuilt unit. Runs great!!
Indeed you did, sorry i missed that. Wow 1800.00. I'm not surprised by the price. I've heard of these things outlasting several vehicles. I bet one could make a reasonably solid copy for much less out of similar materials from the local hardware store. The trick is the drawer sliders and durability.
These are very well designed and built. Overkill. Started out as a hobby/project that took off into a great idea. Possibly worth copying if you like.

Thanks all!
Bikeman - the entire floor was sprayed with undercoating
then the doors, tailgate and firewall lined with peel and stick roof repair stuff from Home Depot. LMC underlayment and polyvinyl floor was next. Took a lot of the road noise out, tires are still loud but you can have a...
