Yep, me too. My tail light went out, or so I thought, after installing the fancy LED kit from LMC. I fumed for days after doing what I thought was a thorough and careful install. Come to find out that I didn't twist the wires tight enough in the fancy little barrel splice thingys that came...
That is one of the classic issues with Chevys of that day! I've had to tighten and add rubber so many times...grr
i also found that keeping some bicycle inner tubes were useful. I've sliced them open and cut to length as needed for things like wrapping around the mirror bracket. I also used a...
Great couple of days, weather was perfect Friday (took most of the day off) and today was nice as well. Got lots of things accomplised...
0 Fixed Driver's seat lean to the outside with thick washers - sits straight now
o Fixed right rear running light, loose wires on the new LED taillight...
Yes, had two of those as well. Both switched off the re-glow period after slight warm up. Not sure what the deal is. Card is new as well. But, good news is, it's still unplugged and there has been no issues so far. Plugs get run every time and I guess that is ok. Thanks for the reply though!
Finished with the new window felt on the outside edge of the tailgate window and the end caps on each side. Also replaced the window crank and lock mechanism of the tailgate. I had a locksmith match the door locks to the tailgate window crank lock. Added some weatherstripping all around the...
I replaced mine too, with one from CUCVElectric. Replaced the GP card too. Still didn't work right, so I left it unplugged. Seems to to have been fine without it. My local 6.2 diesel mechanic recommended just leaving it unplugged. Apparently it was a GM problem. Mysterious.
I know your wanting a new dash pad and possible door panels, but... Consider repairing a decent set of door panels and settling for a gray or even black dash pad.
Then use SEM coat, Burgandy...any reputable auto paint shop or the local NAPA paint store will have it. It is made for vinyl and...
I have used Rapco's rattle can and gallon offerings. The overall spray job was my first...and it passes the 10 foot test. I see lots of issues but, they are not the fault of the Rapco. The best I can tell, the paint of very forgiving and of high quality. I chose it because as a dad with two...
Great rig sir! Welcome to the group...take your time and enjoy the ride! Love the pics by the way. Looks like you are in need of a replacement printed circuit. I am unsure if that can just be cleaned or not. Let us know how that turns out.
Wow Mikev, those are bad. AC 60s have been great in mine so far. And they are well used. The temperature sensor (back drivers side, one that is wired to the glow plug controller card) went weird on me awhile ago. I replaced it with a new one from Napa. No big deal, it wasnt that expensive...
I love the technical manuals! Best advice I ever received from this forum long ago when I too received my Gomer award. Read the TMs, print out some and put them in the bathroom.
Some find them complicated, hard to read and difficult to understand. Why don't they make TMs for women?
Drive and enjoy indeed. Just before Christmas it was 3.20 a gallon. Just after, swoop right back up again. Go figure.
I really need to get the license plate lights up and running. Tags are getting close to expiring too. Don't want to push my luck too far ya know!
Took it for a spin and filled up before the price tops $4 a gallon. Runs like a champ for 27 years old. I can hardly wait for better weather so I can hit the long list of to-dos!
