    tires or CTIS leaking?

T'wer I all hubs out like an A3, I'd try to leave the wheels on the truck if possible so less to mass to have to handle... I would have done this with my 1400x20 I just had to change off the rear of my tractor...CTIS and hubs in.

    tires or CTIS leaking?

My M931A2 kept having one tire go down. It was actually the O-ring between the wheel halves on the combat wheel. I happened to catch it one day it was raining and saw bubbles at the large hole for the valve stem to stick though the outer retaining ring.

Did anyone make it up picture 2 of 5 in post number 70? Sorry I couldn't make it this time guys, October I'll have the Mog there.

Start of my crane truck project

If you had an X frame and four outriggers the trailer would only have to support the trasport weight of the crane and none of the big weight implied by a load 17' out. A lot of Mogs have this when a big crane is mounted...they're just a powered wagon for crane mobility. BTW, that trailer is a...

    possible 5 ton build

Keep in mind that if the truck happens to slip and the trailer is still loaded with traction and still pushing ALL THAT PUSH is being driven off of ONE single driveflange from the pinion of the truck's rear tandem. This was all discussed in 'the big dumb trailer project' thread where I made a...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Disc brakes are gradually starting to show up on more and more heavy trucks. When I was in the whole hydroMax search and info search on it PLUS Rockwell retrofit search, I saw a lot of info about them outlasting drums and air calipers, more resistant to fade, and other positive info.

Do you need a CDL for a 5 ton

It won't matter if you have 130 or 630hp, you won't get pulled over for that. Or, if you're belching black smoke everytime you bump the throttle and you have a LEO that just may have a question...he'll prolly check. Not drawing more attention is better. I have an email from a PA State...

I'm out this time too...sorry all. :( Oh, btw...we are our own worst enemies. We should try to make a concerted effort in the fall to do the fall meet at the end of whatever month then the following year at the beginning or at least earlier in the month that way we could have 3 times on a...

    Axles in a slavage yard

Wheels, definitely! The trailing links rearward from the front axle made them excellent brush trucks as they could take a real good shot to the front without unwrapping the spring eye which could happen on the later M35 series.

    m939 stock rims

MPT mean Multi Purpose Tire. They have a smaller bead seat lip on the side of the tire than almost all the other Michelin military tires...or Goodyears, etc. The A3 deuces had 14.5R20 on double beadlock wheels. People put 395 or other type tires on those wheels and seem to get away with it...

Has anybody used a M1031's PTO for a winch?

Had an NP205 in Velvet running back to a 10K Garwood from a deuce. There may even be a thread or pics on SS. I ran a two shaft Muncie PTO so the rotation of the winch on the way in would pull the way I wanted it.

    m939 stock rims

14.5R 20 is an MPT tire and typically calls for a different outer rim profile. My 931A2 has combats with 1400x 20's that seem to be a real good fit for the truck. They are however, 6" taller than the 14.5R 20's.
