    Help with identifying PTO

Come on all you guys with deuces with 3053 Spicer. I can't find any pictures of the PTO opening that shows the mating gear. There is a 6 bolt cover. Somebody has to have seen what is behind it....help us out please. Where is Gimpy when you need him? Cattlerepairman, you may have to crawl...

Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

Hi Tom. I read the thread and admit to getting confused about who was doing what. I could use an overdrive in my 4x4, I have the length. No doubt I could use an OD. Since I committed to the Allison with 1:1, a pinion gear change at the same time as putting in air locker is going on my...

Compatible transmissions for the M35a3 with the cat 3116

Wow, this is an interesting thread with a lot of branches. Maybe all parties have found their answers. Seems the consensus is to change axle gearing or use the manual 3053. My friend Matt and I have rebuilt one A3 AT 1545 with a melted fourth/reverse clutch pack that will go into the A3 4x4...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I posted this on the sticky for the AT1545, but for those interested in the Allison tranny; Good news. Between Rusty, Matt (mechanic) and Transmissioncenter, I think we have found an improvement to the fourth/reverse clutch pack problem on our Allison 1545 (or 545). Many parts are the same with...

    Advice rebuilding Allison 1545 Tranny?

Good news. Between Rusty, Matt and Transmissioncenter, I think we have found an improvement to the fourth/reverse clutch pack problem on our Allison 1545 (or 545). Many parts are the same with the GM 4L80E. In the 4L80E this clutch pack is the "direct" clutch pack. Thus a performance set...

    Advice rebuilding Allison 1545 Tranny?

Okay Rustystud, talked to Matt that is rebuilding the 1545 and the entire fourth clutch pack may be substituted, he thinks. He has mentioned several times before that there is a steel piston with vulcanized rubber seal that is superior to the aluminum piston. He said when the new style is...

    Advice rebuilding Allison 1545 Tranny?

Really Rusty, hope you are feeling better. You brought up a couple of things that I would like to follow up on about the clutch pack and torque converter interchange with the Chevy tranny. I'm wondering about pump sections too. Since the 4th and rev pack goes out most, that would seem to...

    Help with identifying PTO

You may have the rare bird of a PTO that fits the Spicer 5 speed. I don't have one, but images on google do seem to show 6 bolt pto. But it's on the tranny, not the transfer case. That would seem to give you the option of also having a direct mounted pump with a flange and shaft kit (if...

    Help with identifying PTO

Yea, teeth are the issue for fitting the Allison...the one pictured won't fit an Alison 1545 or the 5 ton. I don't know about the Spicer. The one OP pictured can probably use the same kits for direct mount pump as the one in my ad, once you find what it mounts on. I like the direct mount...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

AT-1545 piston and seal numbers Here are two important numbers for the M35A3 Allison AT-1545 (I posted earlier of Joe's on this thread) when it comes to a rebuild time. The fourth/reverse piston is Allison 29505882 and the seal for the locking torque converter input is National Seal...

Wanting to mount these on m105

I like that too. I don't think you will have enough travel under a load to get the tire into the fender well but it looks kinda close on the outside edge. For someone doing this from scratch, take a look at the 365/85r20 that are being sold on ebay by Rodney. They are a couple inches shorter.

    Allison 1545 Automatic Transmission Specs

The fourth/reverse piston is Allison 29505882 and they have an E on them across from the part number. Here is what I posted on another thread also. I'm going to post this on a couple of old threads that are likely to get hits when researching the Allison 1545 that is in our M35A3's. They are...

    Advice rebuilding Allison 1545 Tranny?

I'm going to post this on a couple of old threads that are likely to get hits when researching the Allison 1545 that is in our M35A3's. They are prone to having the fourth/reverse clutch pack go out, probably at least in part to the locking torque converter but also inferior OEM seals on that...

    Lowe's Paint formula info needed.

It's one of the darkest greens there are. Did you have him pull up the formula and see if there is a green component? I know the black is not flat black, it has a blue component and you can see it in a comparison, but it's very hard to see on it's own...

    M116A3 Fix-up & Conversion Thread

Surge brake assembly on the M1101 is about the same. Here are a few details. I put the bolt to block travel of the plunger arm like you did with the pin. I found that mine was probably ran with no fluid for a while as it was bent inside on several parts. Some TLC and it's like...

    Finished the center console

I made one for my 817 from a box off ebay. Will be doing it again for the deuce. They sure are handy.

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

Made this to use the pintle from my m929A2. No problem coming from Ohio. Used a piece of pipe opened up a bit welded to old hitch.
