Mine steers much easier unlocked. No axle wrap. Mine gets 11 plus mpg. Thinking of pulling one rear axle shafts and use the front cap I pulled for the front hubs on that axle.
The Military Vehicles Collectors of Colorado supported the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles tributes to Veterans 11-11-08. They had most of their season ticket holders donate their tickets for this game to local vets AND their families free of charge. All 4500 seats had the green t-shirts...

The Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado had a bunch of vehicles in this year's parade again. Great weather and big crowd. Our deuces hauled Vets from all eras. 20-30 in a handful of deuces and very special threesome rode in a Pinzee, 3 Tuskegee Airman. A great honor for us. Had alot of our...
Got the two suspect injectors back and in the motor and what difference! The motor runs much smoother and pulls much better on hills. Set them by the torque metod for now at 60 inch pounds. The local Cummins experts suggest this setting for these motors. Now need to get the other 4 done because...
Supermech, that way of setting those injectors certainly must be a better way to set them than the torque method I'm sure. It has to improve consistency across the cylinders hence the smoother idle I take it. I have become well versed in the torgue method but and willl try the height way. I...
Will, 5 and 6 were running almost 100 degrees cooler and that has transfered to 1 and 2 with the injector swap. Those 2 injectors aren't doing their thing. I have always felt this motor wasn't performing as it should. Will get these 2 and eventually the rest checked. And I won't be dropping...
While pulling the 2 rear injectors to swap with the 2 front injectors to trace "cold cylinders" (the 2 rear are running way cooler than the other 4 as measured with an IR thermometer), the number 2 injector plunger decided to fall out on me and drop through the rocker box, pinball around down...
Thanks for the last two posts. I plan on taking off the tool box so I can see the fuel selector valve and he maze of fuel hoses there and pressurize one tank at a time and look for fuel coming from somewhere. Hopefully it be obvious. Any know of any commercial fuel cap I could modify with a...
Time after time you see some pretty stupid damage done by forklifts at these yards. This is one of the best looking trucks I have ever seen coming from auction in the M35 series. Its too bad the GL guys don't treat these as the classics they are. That's an easy fix but that truck should have...
Thanks for all the responses. I'm not trying to make this a regular use thing. For now just trying to avoid alot of cranking and starting fluid until the problem is corrected. The primer pump could be a culprit for sure. Need to take a look at the fuel filter gasket and O ring also. It...
On my M818, it loses prime now after sitting for only a few days. Until I can replace all the fuel lines, would pressuring the selected tank with a few PSI work to get a positive supply of fuel to the pump. NAPA has these real short bolt on tire valve stems that could easliy be installed on a...
Longhunter7 thanks. Perfect picture combo. Now I know how the seat rests on the long troop seat on that side. And for everone else thanks very much. The Z shaped piece is the only I am missing and it looks fairly easy to fabricate.
Check out my post from some time back. It may not be step by step but it might help.
