    Uses for Deuces

Looks like it would have made a good wheel chock for the 915.

    Fuel filters priming

Well of course if you put in dry filters and pumped till the filters were full and system cleared it would start right away. I am not lazy but if there is away I only have to pump the primer 10 times not 200 times then that is what I would like to do. I also am not going to try and run the...

Transfer Case Shifter Hard to put in High

He was not split shifting. He ran through all the low gears and did just what we do. Go from 5th low to 4th high then 5th high. If he would have dropped to 3rd high it would be a wrong down shift. 3rd high has less ground speed than 5th low. He would maybe overrevved the engine. To me there is...

Transfer Case Shifter Hard to put in High

I could shift my A3 on the fly from low to high just had to wait longer for the rpm to drop and the forward momentum of the drive train to let go just a bit. I also tried dropping the shifter into neutral but there is no reason really to go from low to high on an A3. Low only when off road ruff...

    Fuel filters priming

I like the fact that is comes Cat yellow and I do not have to buy a can of Cat yellow spray paint to make things look pretty. What was the micron rating on the Baldwin? I saw where someone use a tighter micron on the primary but wonder if that puts a strain on the lift pump? Tighter micron more...

M936 Rear Winch Operations - Safety Question

Little derailed but all good. If we look at safety then with the 816 should not the operator be in the drivers seat ready to push in the clutch if there is problem and have a spotter in the correct area to see and command operations. Yes I have operated the rear wench on my 816 from the back and...

    Fuel filters priming

This time I tried a different way just for smitts & giggles. Removed the secondary filled new one and pumped the primer 10 times and fired up the truck. Shut down changed primary and cracked the line in pic. Pumped till fuel was coming out with little air in the mix and she fired right up. Did...

What did you do to your M37 today?

OK since I did not read the TM I had to pull the new soft top off to align the door glass with the frame work. The front window stops had to be changed just a bit as the frame work was racked and the rear vertical piece was out just a bit too. It might be able to be done it with the top on but...

What did you do to your M37 today?

Just about finished up with the cab to window rubber both sides and all I need is one more piece. They sent me the wrong rubber as it is just a bit wider and has no channel on the bottom to account for the screws. I also decided to pop rivet mine and it is still easy to adjust if need be.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Silly I back it into the carport and changed the drivers side air bag. Changed the fuel filters plus grease / lube job.

    Don't Leave Home Without It

You would almost think that removing and inspecting all U joints before hand or before problems arise would / could be helpful. Better to double check them before you find yourself in the middle of and intersection or way out in the field with problems. Yes the tool makes easy work of it and if...

    Crane drain

Well changed out engine oil and filter. Changed out Both fuel filters and good grease job. Been playing catch up on hydraulic lines that seem to let go one after the other in a cascade effect. Three so far but I doubt it will stop there.

    Tiger Tool Alternative

Yep I thought instead of wasting the money on a big fricking hammer a big rock will do right. Yea the cheaper aftermarket one will work just fine for what or as many times we might use it just get the correct size for the U joint you are working with. The shop I was helping get off the ground...

    Fuel screw/droop balance?

OK to keep things straight if you FDC is bypassed ( this should be done if not already then do it ) then droop and or smoke cam is no longer in play. All fuel control is now the main fuel /twin nuts. This is because before when the FDC was working the FDC servo was moving. Bypass the FDC and it...
