This is why I do not like working in the dirt

I beleive you are correct. I do not do this sort of thing that much though. Usually I work in my stable and solid drive way. Unfortunatly, there is not enoug room to park two vehicles side by side on it.

This is why I do not like working in the dirt

That is a good idea, but I need more hight. The tires will stop the truck from falling all the way down but i do not know if they will be enough to prvent serious injury. I wonder if I could double stack and center them on a crossmember.

This is why I do not like working in the dirt

That is a good idea, but I do not have any laying around. If I could find some on the rims, that truck will not slide any where.

This is why I do not like working in the dirt

There is always a cookie motivation. ;-) That would be nice, but it would be a pain to run back and fouth while getting measurments. My dually is in the drive way with no front end at all and I still have some fab work to do. However, not getting crushed sounds nice. Melissa thought it was...

The bottle jacks I was using was sinking almost three inches into the ground. Yes I got out a tape meassure. However, they are all I have so bottle jacks it will be. Well, one jack any way. The other is stuck under the truck right now.

For now. Now I have the task of getting it back up. Does any one live near Columbus that has a high lift jack I could barrow?

This is why I do not like working in the dirt

This is the truck that front end is going under. I usually have things more secure than that. I guess murphy is always laying in wait. That truck has it in for me. I just scraped the hell out of my knee on that god for saken bumper.

This is why I do not like working in the dirt

The ground is really soft right now from recent rain. I am sure that was a contributing factor to my donor truck falling off the jack stands. That and not having the proper equipment to take on such a task. I was trying to get the truck jacked up far enough so I could pull the front end out...

That engine is one reason I wanted one of those Jeeps. This Jeep not having the correct engine sealed the deal as far as me not getting it. Its not like we could take on another vehicle any way.

I got a little more history on the owner. He was involved in some sort of accident some years back and has not been right in the head since. From what I understand he is not allowed to drive at all. i have some doubts that he is the one that put that flat head in there. But, you never know.

I wonder what that engine came out of then.
