    M35 Owner Awe

I visit this page frequently although I don't own a deuce--drove them in the military though. I've come close to buying one, VERY close, but chickened out at the last minute. I'm fair with a wrench and have rebuilt several trucks from the ground up (all 1.25 ton and smaller). However, the...

    Oval thingy below the bed

I have a silly question. What's the steel oval ring welded below the bed and between the two rear axles do? It's on all of the vehicles, but I never see anything attached to them. Thanks. Steve

    C or D turbo?

Perhaps a silly question, but I may buy a truck this weekend and need to know. The truck I'm looking at has a placard on the passenger side of the block with LDT-465-1C. But the truck doesn't "whistle" as I've heard on other trucks. Is the D version actually the whislter or is this one broken...

    Deuce in the drive

I'm considering a duece purchase. But if I buy, it will have to stay in my driveway in suburbia. Anybody else do this? Thanks. I don't think my neighbors will mind too much. I have a trucker right across from me and he parks his rig in his drive when he's home. Steve

    First deuce--need help.

I test drove a 1971 am general with LDS-465-C and air shift this morning. The rear hubs had been flipped, so it only had single tires (900s). It started right up, cold, stopped very sharply and didn't seem to burn any oil-no obvious blue smoke (although there was a little on start up). A few...

Opinions on value of this bobbed Deuce

I can't fit a whole duece in my drive, but a bobbed duece would work. I found this one (http://m715zone.proboards102.com/index.cgi?board=sale&action=display&thread=1159882483) and was wondering if you all thought it was worth $8500. It's sprag engaged and non-Turbo as I understand. He also...

    M109 video

I ran across a video of I think an M109 deuce on this site somewhere but can't find it now. The guy is sitting behind the wheel and actually films starting the vehicle. The rest of the film is of him driving it around. Could someone point me to that film? I like the start up sound! Thanks. DFN

    M1008 worth it?

I located an M1008 near me that I could get for $1500. The guy said that the starter had ruined the engine (which I don't quite understand) so he will throw in another engine for free. Sound like a good deal or should I keep looking? Also, how much does one of those engines weigh? Thanks. DFN

    Cut-down deuce

Does anyone know of a place that will either sell me a cut-down deuce or convert one for me? I like the way they look and it would certainly fit in my driveway better--an the wife will let me have one. Thanks! DFN

Symbol on door of some MVs

I've noticed a symbol on a number of vehicles that I would like to know what is. It's a "^" found on the driver's door. Seems to be common to desert storm vehicles. I'm ex-military but have to plead stupid on this one. Thanks. DFN

    What's the Gov-loc diff on M1009s?

I'm looking to buy one of these vehicles (M1009) and was wondering what a gov-loc diff is? Some sort of cheap locker? Thanks! DFN

    Alphaheaven and Jim Henry

Just curious about these two vendors. I've seen them mentioned on this site and wanted to know how honest they were. Are they on the up and up? Thanks. DFN

    Deuce looking

Well, it seems I've found a place to gleen some good information about the M35 and variants. I'll be looking for one to buy after I learn a little more about them. Some of the posts here are beyond me. I know gas engines, but haven't owned a diesel MV. I've restored an M715, M381A1, M37, and...
