Hmmm. Ok. Thanks for the clarification.
I guess I need to do even more research. I recall reading threads where guys have gone to bigger tires and have issues with reduced turning radius and rubbing issues.
I want to go to larger tires and not have the issues yet put excessive stress on my...
Ok so the last post with pic of the tire with 50/50 off set and non wife modified fender looks pretty good. Must just be because your fender is cut down that it looks as though the wheels stuck out half way. If they are flush with the fender that isn't wife modified then that looks right.
Thank...
Thanks for the pics. Especially the one showing the width. Now I am not so sure about them. Looks like they stick waaay out. Unless you have your fenders trimmed back. Wonder if there is added stress to the bearings in the hub...? Might just be the angle of the pic but it looks like the top of...
Looks like something I would love to have.
I could get regular 2 piece steel MRAPs (finally) up here in Canada for couple hundred bucks but would rather have those!!!
Where did you find them?
Boyce Equipment in Utah sells them for sure.
$1350.00 for the front axle kit and $850 for the rear axle kit.
Of course there is applicable taxes I would assume.
That's one seller for sure.
Think C and C Equipment makes and sells them to. Not sure on their price if they do.
Lots of good useful tidbits.
The headlight studs are a big bonus to me! I remember having older vehicles with those style studs and they would rust out or the heads strip and finding replacements was becoming harder and harder as the new vehicles with sealed lens style evolved.
Just spit...
You are absolutely correct Plowboy.
Those are the measurements I had when I was trying to figure out how to go about powersteering on my project.
A top frame rail power steering box is the easiest way to go. Just have to replace it with the factory one on the M135/211 and use some universal...
Lol. Is it bad that I like it a lot?
I would however remove the little side windows.
To eliminate the gas tank being in the middle with out a step to get in I wonder if a guy could tuck the tank up in the middle if the frame rails since the is an abundance of space on a rig like that. Would...
Not sure about Airliner suspensions.
I am quite sure if you Google around you will find more options to source. I am pretty sure you can buy lots of different size air bags for suspension. I believe some medium duty Frieghtliners have used airbags.
I think air bags are a great idea. Not to...
Looks like a 5 ton international. I am just basing my guess of of a chart I looked up of military vehicles used in Korean war. The bumper and grill look close to a 5 ton international dump.
To bad you weren't closer. I have a 1991 cummins 12v fully mechanical that I was going to put in my M135.
A couple easy mods to the engine and you get some decent horse power gains. To make room I was planning to push the engine back into the cab by 2 to 4 inches. This would provide enough room...
Wicked cool!!
I have been waiting to see someone do three cabs!!
Are you going to leave the rear most cabs door on to keep 6 doors or weld sheet metal and make it like a suburban?
I am interested to see how you get by the insurance and registration red tape with a whole new frame.
I was told...
I was told my the guy who rebuilt my generator for my 1954 Farmall tractor that if the generator was new or re spoiled it needed to be spun up with a Smaller electric motor or he said a power drill with a socket on the end works well.
If the generator was spun in the wrong direction the polarity...
Glad it made it to you safe and sound waaaay out there on the other side of the big rock.
I was gonna clean it up and make it pretty but figured you might prefer the era correct petina and rust.
Surprisingly even though the nuts and bolts were considerably rusted, they turned nice and easy and...
I like the idea of the expanded metal. Will be lighter and if you have mud on your combat boots you can scrap them off and the muck falls right to the ground before entering the cabin.
So does a deuce I am told! LOL!
It is a heavy truck not a Cadillac.
Although. ..... airbags under the cab???
Naaaa.
Still need an air compressor for my 6bt, so no air bags.
I could dream up all kinds of mods but money and time dictate what actually happens. First things first get it going. Lol.
Thanks for your PM Rustystud.
Checked it out.
Ugh. Its in PA.
Other than location it looks great. Unfortunately due to location I could probably buy a running unit here for what it would cost to ship and go through customs.
I will keep looking.
Agreed a 4X4 F700 would be awesome!
Woah! !
Way wrong truck for what the fellow was wanting to do. 14k curb weight on a vehicle rated at 9500!!!
I hope you all aren't thinking this is how I am looking at things!
I am wanting axles that are equivalent to my stock ones or a bit stronger. I am just wanting ones that are easier to...
