Why exactly would you want to repower it?

    Black Diesel!!!

FYI it is better to use regular gas than higher octane due to the higher octane having a higher ignition temp. The quickest way I have found is a gas water pump with a spin on filter. My pump is 3"/6.5HP IIRC and I have about a 10' of 1" suction line and 25'+ of 3/4" output. I think the last...

Oops. this one might be stuck for a while

That's not even that bad! I had the bed of my deuce on the ground on the driver's side and water coming in the cab PLUS the front bumper was IN the mud. Got it out with the winch and a snatch block.

    Bought an M123A1C today

The white house that's on 146A right next to the little plaza with all the campers for sale? Are those trucks and equipment his? I remember seeing a nice Autocar dump there. That white house I always thought was empty. Unfortunately the only thing besides NOS tires are grader tires. Altho I...

    Electric Winch Install

I was talking about this statement, implying that you'd just abandon the vehicle. Check out some Alaskan videos of people getting stuck. You might change your mind. I've personally had my deuce stuck t the point of the bed being on the ground, water in cab, fender just about under water. I'd...

    Bought an M123A1C today

What's his name? Thanks, I'll check it out. I got the truck running again last night. Sure was good to hear it roar again! Still have leaks that need to be addressed though.

    Electric Winch Install

http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Recovery/index.html That's a silly thing to say. There is always something bigger or another way to get something unstuck.

Haha that was my ad. I still have the M818 up on CL but if it doesn't sell I'll just fix it like this.

    Electric Winch Install

Usually worst case senario is it will take 3x the vehicle weight to get it unstuck at it's absolute worst(re:steep grade burried to the frame). So around 60klb to get a 931 out. I think using 2 12klb winches would probably be better than a single 18klb. You figure right off the bat you're...

    M818 price?

I doubt you'll find one cheaper than that in running shape. I mean that's already really cheap for any truck. Pretty much just check for leaks on the axles for brake seals/hubs seals, engine leaks, fuel lines like you already said, check radiator for oil, engine oil, make sure the clutch...

    Bought an M123A1C today

It looks more like it was the front cover gasket leaking than the oil seal around the crank. Figured I'd chnage the oil seal anyways since it's out. The seal I got is an updated version and doesn't have the spring ring like the old style. Few more.

    Bought an M123A1C today

Was hoping to wrap it up and get it back together but my tube of NEW RTV was hard and lumpy so I had to run out and get some and called it a night. :???:

    Bought an M123A1C today

I have the front cover off at the moment. Wasn't a bad job so far at all. I didn't have to remove the radiator to get everything apart but I wanted to get the block really clean so I decided to take it out. I couldn't get a good reach to most of it otherwise. Good thing cuz the coolant is NASTY...

    Patriot Place 5-30-13

Bass pro car show a week from this thursday 5-30-13. I'm taking the day off to go. I'm going to try and get the front cover seal done on the 10 ton this weekend and try to make it there. I'm on call this weekend and it's pretty much a guarantee to get called in at least one day. Hopefully I...

    6 year old gasoline...

I have personally run heavy mixes of stale gas/WMO with great success. The old gas works pefrect for thinning WMO in the colder months. I was running a mixture that was very similar in viscocity to diesel. I'm on my last bit of a couple hundred gallons. I also throw some in to let all the trash...

    Why no Multi-Fuel engine?

Pretty much any regular diesel will run kero, WMO, ATF, WVO, etc. so "multifuel" really doesn't matter. A list of engines that have documented that have been run on some amount of WMO/WVO/WATF: Cummins NHC 250, 12v 5.9, 6.7 ISX, V8300 IH 6.9, 7.3 IDI, 7.3 PSD, 6.4 PSD, DT466 Detroit 6.2/6.5...
