    Fleet angle vs level wind

most of the time you have to work with what you have. I either get out and check the windings or I have someone watch it. all my pulls I have never had a problem or had to stop and unwind. but I was lucky enough to be able to pull straight. If I can control the angle I always set it up as close...

    Winch hook capacity

I just looked at my 818 and it is a 1/2 chain and hook. the chain is an alloy L8 rated at 12k in my Campbell book. hook is rated the same. these ratings are with a design factor of 4 to 1. WLL would be 16k if it had the 3 to 1 factor. still not what the winch is rated at ??

Wrecker anchor spades on a M818

I have 3 sets of spades. I used one on the back of a deuce once. put the balls on the rear shackles and used a 2 inch strap under the bottom of both bumperettes to hold them in place. I then hooked my wrecker to it and pulled. spades worked great and moved less than I thought they would.

Anyone Towing With a 6.2 Diesel?

i have towed up to 10k with my 08. I commonly pull 6-8k with it. All local work usually run about 48 mph. I have had it up to 58, but I am never in a hurry and keep the speed down. I don't think I have ever been on the highway. All secondary roads. Seems to pull fine to me. Slow, but I have...
