I tow my tractor n trailer with my M1008 a few times a month. The m1008 handles the load(7500lbs) just fine. Just not going to win a speed contest doing it.....

It had sat in a field for 3yrs before I bought it. The owner thought the engine was ruined because some ex GF poured sugar in the fuel tank. I just kept my mouth shut and threw out a lowball...
Just remember that you will have to change the differentials to use 4:10 gears...
My 79 K20 has the SM465 and 4:10 gears paired with Toyo 255 85r16's. According to my tach, I'm going 65mph at 2400rpm's
I thought about doing the same swap to my 86 M1008, then remembered that 1st to 2nd gear...
I double checked the VIN before I bought the truck..... and YES it IS an M1008.
It was carc green, but at some point in time while it was in the military it got painted dark flat blue.
After the military the truck went to the East Point Police were it was painted blk/white.

Dobbins AF base was not too far from my house when I was growing up and in high school in the 80's. I specifically remember driving past the AF base and seeing some of the service vehicles painted a dark flat blue.
And my VIN number verified that I have an 85 M1008...
