It also makes you crosseyed.
Ohhh, I'm so confused.
Slapshot, if you use the google search, all the info is out there, it is just not so sub limy organized, and that may be due to software limitations.
You will not find a better source of information for all of your questions.
Oops, wrong question answered to the wrong thread and wrong post.
How could it get any worse then that.
A bulleted list would be pretty neat if possible, but that is a question for Andrew. Not sure if it can be done with current version of software.
I would love to see a breakdown of all M35...
Now that is my idea of the perfect military style camper. Very versatile in the possibilities.
I cannot tell from the picture. Is that butcher block wood on top of the cabinets. Very expensive stuff now days, and on even the worst of it, turn it upside down, and refinish the bottom side for...
This might be the first time I've seen 7X20 tires.
I'm not a purist, but I definitely do believe there are certain MVs worth going back to as far as original as possible, especially Korean war era and back. This would be one. Hope you do find the exacting military designation on it, and can do...
For reasons unknown, when I think of GSA vehicles, baling wire and masking tape come to mind, and I have never even seen one in person.
I guess it has to do with the notion of what an organization would do with a vehicle they got for free, had for years, then decided to give it back.
I might...
No worries Rick. We still love ya!
Hey! Did I tell you tired and grumpy is my middle name?
It comes with having to many birthdays, I think, combined with to many old injuries, in my case.
ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
There are a lot of folks in Ga. Very knowledgeable about all different MVs, but there is no such organization here where Ga. Is broken off from the greater masses or anyone who has a lead. Just ask what you want to ask on the board and someone can and will help out, and you will eventually even...
There has never been a war where MVs we're not modified for special purpose application.
I would flip out if I saw that vehicle in a parade. It would be a highlife of my day, but, I would also like to see original equipment too, which I am sure would be there,
And when I left the parade, I sure...
I always thought the military wheels made that pickup look nasty. I'm sure it makes it very rugged.
I would put anything on there other then what it comes stock with, as long as it is not aluminum colored.
Desert tan might make it look even nicer then black, with some seperately colored and...
I would try a Commercial washer at the Laundry mat (if concerned about your personal washing machine) and a cup of white vinegar with Oxyclean for a detergent.
The ring won't get damaged if you're worried about that.
You don't need the preservative if it is indoor and sealed cab.
Vinegar also...
OK, so how do you splice in those loops. I gotta do that with a few myself, for other reasons.
If there is a specific name for it, maybe I can look up the technique on the internet.
A M1061 would definitely handle the load and brakes are air over hydraulic so that is a match as well, but the height and lack of ramps are the primary issues. I had a M1061 and it was great behind a deuce, but high for a vehicle load.
Remember, they put a complete laundry unit on it including...
So you're saying I should be looking for a sticky, not a WIKI.
I have to admit I'm not that familiar with either and used someone else's terminology for it.
So I found the WIKI's and it was not there like he said, now I can assume it is with all the sticky's.
How does one find a sticky?
I might not be doing this right. I go to the WIKI page to find a deuce parts exchange for vendor parts like NAPA etc. on brakes, engine parts, tranny, etc and there are only 2 WIKI's there, one on MEP-002s and one on CUCV's.
We used to have more there. Am I missing something? (Get it? - missing...
If you put 10K miles a year on a deuce, you might eventually pay off a spin on oil filter.
But it will take years and years.
Spin on fuel filter? Dunno.
Hey, if you have the money to burn, go for it!
If you don't find an original, you can always make a replicated one through military-tents.com for $250.
Just send them the measurements and they will cut and sew it. They make the ones for the M101A2 now and are making me a custom one iaw my drawing, which is shorter with longer sides.
Really dumb question, I'm sure,...
But what is the purpose of all the Manila rope around the front bumpers?
And was there a specification for it?
I have a new 600' roll of pure Manila rope that is built to military specifications and 1" diameter that came with a couple of 4400 pound pullies...
