Getting Deuce from Georgia with no Title or SF-97 back to Louisiana

Good grief. That was three years ago. I imagine he made up his mind by now. And I'm sure he has a Louisiana title on that Georgia truck that never had one.

    Zout's Cookout

You shoot a hole in a truck while using a scope and leaning over and shooting across the top of the truck. (The barrel is lower then the scope) Ask me how I know...

    Last B52G dies today!!!

I don't think this is the end of the B52s.... yet. It is the end of the designated number of B52Gs that were identified as ones that had to be eliminated in terms of nuke carrying quantity. The B52 still flies today, it is just that the quantity has been reduced by 39 in accordance with the...

    Crossing the Bar

With a catchy name like that, I was attracted to see his post like a magnet on steel. I was never disappointed. He was indeed a character and well versed in all things. I feel like he could be my friend, but am convinced anyone could say the same, which makes him a rare one indeed. That was...

USAF Floodlight Genset model FL-1D - need info!

It is a site requirement you list the state you live in. It might help you get some local assistance as well. Good luck with the hunt. I would love to have one myself, though I don't know what I would do with it. I'm addicted!

Brand New MRAPS Being Scrapped - A Sad Day

Those look to be in good shape. And I thought they had to be demilled on site prior to removal, under government witness.

    My Homemade Steering Wheel Puller

I'm so jealous of you talented guys who can weld. I was hoping someone would post pics of a homemade steering wheel puller, because I am probably eventually going to have to make my own for a M-37, where I hope to buy a new steering wheel and replace it. Thanks for posting. Nice work!

    MEP-002A and -003A main breaker

Good to know Munchies. Keep in mind, my work or investigation is incomplete. The others here are saying it won't work with theirs. I believe them, but wish I could find or someone could identify the specific solution to the problem, where we only have the problem cited, thus far, in this thread...

    MEP-002A and -003A main breaker

Looks like they built the relay for .85 amps and marked it for .75 amps tripping. They evidently found a problem back in 1984, but I doubt that specific issue would relate to the huge surges reported here on industial equipment and household central air conditioning unit surges, where a cheapo...

    CUCV Surveillance Truck

Santa Clause sleigh rides high above the desert, not at ground level. You all had better be nice! Point that mast North young man, go north.

Current Auction Item - NOT BREAKING RULES!!!

The military, post war effort, is taking advantage of turnins on their Table of Allowances, which leaves a hole or vacancy where they are "allowed" an asset. It becomes to expensive to ship an asset home for instance, even if that asset costs $600k. So, when the boye come home without an asset...

    MEP-002A and -003A main breaker

If it's going to be a sticky, I would think it would have a solution. I just read six pages and cannot draw any solid conclusions. Just the fact that my gen set doesn't play well with inductive surges. Is this a misapplication of the intended use. Did the military use these generators for 40...

    MEP-002A ASK Decibel Readings

It would appear 85db is the "normally accepted" level for causing hearing loss. And 10 db is 10x's. The transition from 92db to 82 db is significant and would protect the operator who would work close to the gen set. I would wonder how effective it would be in helping one sleep. 82 remains...

    Good Change Coming In Wisconsin

Congratulations for a job well done. A good lifelong friend of mine, and a three star General, upon having lunch together at the club, said "Dell, the difference between doing good work and excellent work is just "this much!" Holding his thumb and forefinger together with a barely visible air...

    Adding a pony motor to a M936

If you want to borrow a 5KW, a MEP-002 on a trailer, and see if it fits the bill for ya, you can drop by and pick it up. It's mounted on a M116 and ready to haul.

    Tire change with bed hoist/crane

I cannot honestly say what it means, specifically, but I did read this yesterday and today, I had a need. I moved a 1500 cement mixer from one trailer to a M105A3, with the big tall tires. Big difference in the height, and as I was working alone, I had a lot of work to do. I removed the tires...

Cleaning Dirt From Interior of Instrument Panel

Why bother? It's not that much trouble to take it apart, marking all wires, wire brush the panel with the gauges out, then paint. It's a heck of a lot better then cleaning, and will do a much better job. After you do that, you can paint the truck to match.:D Just kidding about the latter...

Just to put it out there!

Great info, but with a title like that, it might be a little difficult to find using search. Thanks for passing the information on. It appears you do some good work.

    M101A3 tire/wheel question.

Parking and surge brakes will not be affected in any way. The GMC 2500 also has the 8 lug wheels and you can buy some on craigslist regularly with 17" tires that look pretty darn nice. I bought 4 myself and interchange them all the time. Seems, for some reason, whenever I sell a HMMWV tire...
