    cat 3116 tune up?

To ALL that inquired about the kits I "had"; after searching the tool crib and storage I remember selling all the surplus kits to a tooling middleman. I contacted him today and he moved them very quickly. He stated that they all went to auto/diesel shops and the such. The NSN was 5180 01 433...

    cat 3116 tune up?

If you're feeling froggy, I have the CAT 3116 tooling kit (NOS) to sync, set and adjust/tune the top end. Comes w/ the manual and training video. (VHS). Not to difficult for the mechanically inclined. PM me if your interested. I'll have to dig them up.

    Adding old oil to fuel?

Spot on, unless WMO is pre-filtered before introducing into the fuel supply, stay away from it. Long term effects will cost you. Better to use a proven diesel additive. Power Service Diesel Kleen or fresh 2 stroke oil.

    Injection pump questions (general)

Google "Cummins PT pump" lots of manuals available for sale and a couple good tech videos on U tube describing the inner workings. Lot of info out there. There is an animated video that explains the function of each sub-component in the PT pump. After viewing that, you will understand that...

    LMTVs and Traffic Signal Actuators

It happens, the sensors are no longer weight sensitive, they are electro magnetic sensitive. Truck is to high off the ground. Motorcycles have the same concern, bike has to stop right over the sense element, stop in the middle of the lane and you'll have to blow the red.

Yet another project: My new 1969 Kaiser (Jeep) M35A2 in MD

Not sure if I would call that a "project". Looks like all you need to do is add fuel and go. Great start for the MV hobbyist. Keep her inside and all you will have to do is your PMCS, fuel and go. You even have a willing "soldier B". Nice truck/trailer combo, congratulation.

    1973 m35a2c

The picture of the interior in the first post shows the air shift transfer case switch mounted below the instrument cluster. Truck is equipped with air shift. I have a original "73 dropside that is equipped with air shift. I like the red w/ lights and sirens.

Just picked up a M35A3 and have a few questions

A3s are cool, 55mph max, down hill with a tail wind. I love mine. Double check all the vents, especially the transmission vent. Insects love to plug them. The Allison transmission needs to be vented. Find the operators (-10) manual, lots of good info that addresses most of your questions.
