Welcome from Kentucky. The truck looks to be in pretty good shape. Read up on the operator's manual, check/change fluids, inspect the brake system, fresh belts and fuel and I'll bet it would drive straight through to the Land of Lincoln.
Welcome from Kentucky. The truck is in pretty typical shape for its age and level of care is hasn't gotten. It will make a nice project. The biggest concern is , do you have a place to park it and work on it? (inside storage). Working outside will be a drag and possibly an issue with the...
Way to go, nice truck. Give it a good lube and change the fluids and you should be good. Double check all your vents, including the transmission vent. Insects love to plug them. The transmission is real sensitive to clog vents. Check the inlet and outlet of the aftercooler (intercooler), cracks...
Welcome from Kentucky, nice truck, nothing like a deuce to put a smile on everyones face. Is it a Airforce deuce? dual brake system? If so you need to register it here on the site.

Looks like the truck is equipped with a springer drives seat, your butt won't hate you..... Read the operators manual, twice. Have fun and take pictures.
$1100 for a M105/ It better have all the side racks, cover, good tires, and a cooler full of beer in the back. There are alot of them floating around, Ive sold serveral complete units for $650, their auctions prices have gone up though.
You should be fine, as long as you're not hauling on a daily basis or using it for something that would be considered commercial. You have an antique truck hauling old (antique) wood. Now find a M105 trailer to complete the purchase, and you can real move some wood.
86K1132 is the registration, the data plate will have a "C xxx xxxxx" number, that is the serial number. Combine both numbers for the VIN #, if you need to title it. I have an 86 USAF deuce.
Welcome from Kentucky,
Hopefully a nicely rebuilt M109A3 will not need a engine overhaul and such. Plan on oil changes, bulbs, belts and filters down the road.
Post up pictures, we love pictures.

Front drive shaft carrier bearing makes the "rattling chain" sound. They can last a long time making noise. I had the same problem. Take the front drive hubs off and take it for a spin. This will keep the shaft/bearing stationary.
