    Deuce Bobbing Questions

Yeah - he said they had about $3500 in it when it was bobbed with tires. Said around what, $5500 with the bed done. It must've been donated or a very reduced price!

Are you the one with the bobbed 5 ton that camped a couple of sites down from the MKT last year? Do you still have it?

Just as a reminder, we need a fairly accurate count on who will be attending the bbq. Pat, are you keeping a count? Hopefully the "maybes" can confirm before Blake buys supplies?

Well that brought some closure into my life! Pretty cool truck - they should've added a turbo and lockers to it though. You know how Ian likes to build a differential.

    M100 resto finally started

Mine didn't have quite as much rust when I bought it. It has been stored outside with a tarp over it (with bows like a covered wagon). I guess sitting there for 6 yrs with no air circulation did as much damage as leaving it open to the elements. I know what you mean - I bought the trailer for...

Did they ever finish that bobber? I don't think I ever saw the finished product.

    Deuce Bobbing Questions

Somebody did one with a 4 link and bags back in 2013 on here. Now that I think about it, I can't recall if it was a deuce or 5 ton - thinking a deuce though.

    M100 resto finally started

Ain't that the truth! My spare chassis frame is in better shape than this one - I might just use it instead. I can't seem to locate the place that had the $159 (shipped) floor pan - I looked for hours last night. I guess I should've bookmarked it - DUH! Now, the cheapest place I can find them is...

This is what I did on my Jeep before the first SSGR I went to. Haven't done it to the deuce yet.

That's what I was thinking with the name tags. I can remember faces, but forget names over a year's time! Friday around lunch - good Lord willing and the creek don't rise!

Once you turn onto the main road to Denton Farmpark, you will arrive a the main gate - someone should be manning the gate. He will direct you through the gate and to the left. We usually set the MKT up on or about the 3rd camping spot on the first road (I say first road because the main loop is...

A late afternoon convoy is not out of the question. We discussed doing that. I guess it depends on what the majority of the participants want to do. Just consider that it will be a convoy of MVs driving back at night without police blocking intersections - a LOT easier for us to get separated...

    M100 resto finally started

Yeah, it was put on the backburner for the winter and until after the Denton show. I am currently working on some upgrades on the deuce, and then have a few things to do to the Jeep before the show. Maybe I will get back to the M100 in the Spring. I did get the running gear painted and the frame...

    Deuce Bobbing Questions

Here's a nice, lengthy discussion on the subject - one of many: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?83547-Changing-caster-angle-solved-problems-with-G-177-tires Has nothing to do with the spring brackets - it is the angle on the spring perch (or block) that the axle sits on. They used...

    Deuce Bobbing Questions

We bobbed ours last year. We cut 3' off of the bed and frame. We moved the FRONT axle back about 6". I have seen a couple of crew cab conversions on here where you can find the info you need. There was also one that was converted to a single axle by removing the FRONT axle. Are you going to...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yeah, I just posted that picture to show the shiney new batteries and how I mounted the fuse holders and ran those cables to the batteries. Those are supposedly waterproof fuse holders. I have a 60 amp fuse (Vanner spec'd an 80 amp, but Radio Shack didn't have one - should be fine for the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed my Vanner 60Amp battery equalizer, 2 new Napa group 31 batteries and a 6 circuit 12v fuse block installed. Took a 60 mile round trip ride today. Plan on getting my Tekonsha electric brake controller and 12v outlets installed this coming week if the weather holds out.

    Denton NC mv show 2015

Hey Pat, I'll wait a couple of days before I post to G503 - probably won't have a problem quickly getting up to around 20 Steel Soldiers. There are only about 5-6 G503 guys that I will definitely want to invite if they confirm they are coming (they are supposedly driving from Michigan and...

    2015 April 17-19th Denton NC Buy/Sell/Trade thread

I'll start it off - I have 11 (I think) 9.00x20 NDCC tires off my deuce. I think 5 are on rims - I will check later on today. 9 of them have good tread and no heavy cracking. I will take $10/ea for the tires/tubes/flaps and $25/ea for the ones with rims. I will sell ALL of them for $150, but...
