To Winch or Not to Winch a No-Winch M35A2? Opinions

A bunch of hydros just sold on GL so keep your eyes out. The one thing is that winch gets me all twterpated when I am near it. I like the big hunk in mechanical winch. GOD I hope I never have to use it to unstick me!

My Class V Receiver Hitch for M35A2

I purchased a ReadyWelder. It is Military issue and came with NATO slave plug. Welds steel, stainless, or aluminum and runs off your batteries up to 36 volts. It is very handy cause you can run flux core for steel. Works great but is not for fab shop. We weld once or twice a week here and have...

To Winch or Not to Winch a No-Winch M35A2? Opinions

My truck had a winch but was gone when I get him. I could not afford what the big boys got for their winches so I pieced it together. First got winch, extensions and bumper for $800. Cable brand new. Then purchased brand new PTO from Teds Trucks for $650. New shaft from California $110. Linkage...

    New Guy With Idea

How far north would you go? I could do NE or TX neck of the woods. This is a great idea but to market yourself you should pull a trailer with the goodies in that way you can use your skills and wisdom to help us off-road. Hit the rallies and off-road parks along with prep- pers meets. County...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed remote brake ressovar. Replaced one wheel cylinder and set of brake shoes. Found and repaired coolant leak at oil cooler. Bled brakes and rechecked for leaks, none. Took ride with neighbor hood. Ordered new exhaust elbow out of turbo. Drove to doctors, man she runs good. Inspected tire...

Engine oil centrifuge on an M35A2 multifuel

When I was doing truck work for a living I change a large lube refiner filter that conditioned the oil along with filtering. This looks better but how do you add the necessary additives to the oil when needed? Do you sample? Running 4,000 a year is nothing, trucks I worked on did that in a week...

    Tire chains

Yes it can be dangerous, so can running chains loose. Driving in ice and snow is dangerous so don't chain up and stay home. put chains on with tire properly inflated. Let air out till one link can be taken up, if one link not possible, twist chain 1/2 time, only on outside link for singles...

    Tire chains

Chains are hard on everything from tire, drivetrain, ground, and road. Or rember putting chains on the single rear axle whites for north penn and drivers taking them off in the driveway going out. Those that did not would be towed back with all kinds of drivetrain failures or I run out to fix a...

I paid $1,500 for my 71. Was in bad shape. 3 flats. No lights. Running hot. Tons of rust and rot. I add two gallons of coolant, fixed flats, replaced rear harness, turn signal switch, rebuilt headlight switch, both tail light assemblies and one front turn signal assembly. Then left front wheel...

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Yes please post pictures. I agree with the assists over taxting the steering box but also not giving all the help you need. There are still plenty of power steering boxes out there and pumps to boot. I think it is the price being charged for the setup. Pump $200, box $500, miss $200. That is...

    NJ to GA run

Small items that are too heavy for ground shippers and too expensive for trucking. I can handle up to a CUCV on my trailer. A car is coming back so I will use the open trailer this run. I will be close to full on return run so only small items that can fit under a car. Or ??? I have to see. Brian

    NJ to GA run

A fellow SS member has a family that needs to move from GA to PA. If I can get some items to run south would offset the cost. There maybe something else coming north but does not get me down to them. If you need something moved post up. Brian
