    Deuce battery question

Words of caution. Always were PPE around batteries. Always connect 12 volt charger to one battery plus+ to plus+ and negative- to negative- be sure to find the + - on each battery before connecting. Keep charger off/unplugged from house electric during connection and disconnection to battery...

    Dot 3 or Dot 5

Brakes on a deuce are not sealed but are vented to atmospher. Brake fluid absorbs water from the air. Brake system is single circuit type lose hydraulic, lose your brakes ( never rely on brakes to work on a deuce). With so much that can go wrong with brakes why not put the best in? O it is...

    Ideal Tire setup on M35a2

Couple of posts say g177 make front hard to steer. I run NDT 11-20 but will need replacements soon. I am in same boat as you tring to decide but know from experience that when you change one thing others need to be changed. For now till power steering and crew cad is done I am sticking with 11-20.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Took Brutus sledding. Well he pulled the kids around on sleds. He had fun in 6 inches of snow with 3 sleds in tow and bunch of people in bed. Low range 2nd gear was fast enough to lose a couple in the turns. Drove 1/4 mile and kids were cold so in the cab with heat blasted I had 5 young ones and...

Latest issue< front end shake(side to side)

Yes it will cause wandering on flat ground. On a crowned road it will pull hard right if you are driving on the right of crown and left if left side. I took my F150 to get aligned. They did it and my daughter picked it up. First time I drove it about ripped the wheel from my hands. Took back...

Latest issue< front end shake(side to side)

Toe out can cause a pull. You have a shake. Swap front for rear tire see if shake changes. Mine shakes for the first few miles due to flat spots from sitting. Normal on bias ply tire.

    ATF red dye?

Diesel yes. Gasoline is big fine if caught putting gas in your vehicle. Gas can is gray. Most stations will let u pump into a can. I try to use the neighborhood station since they are fair with price and service.

    New brake shoes or not?

I can say that adjusting the brakes on a deuce as simple as it is is a PIA. That said if done rite you will have great stoping power. Done wrong and you can lose your brakes entirely.

    ATF red dye?

Ok. I am so confused. Can we run waste oil or not? If I track my waste oil, road deisel purchased and mileage of truck and pay my road use tax and recover any road taxed paid on fuel used off road on income tax. O forget it I just use road deisel.

    New brake shoes or not?

Couple of issues I found. Front wheel hub nuts backed of. Bearings looked good but upon righting hub nuts tire would not spin freely. Took apart pulled cup and cone out. Found inner bearing stack 50 thousands short of new stack. This causes seal to be to tight. Replaced bearing and seal issue...

    Loading ramps for my deuce

I made one set of ramps for a trailer long ago. Used 4X4X1/4 inch angle 12 foot long. I stress them by cutting both legs from 0 to 2" starting 6 inches from 6 foot mark. Cutting this way causes steel to bow. Then tied two angles together using angle and flat bar as necessary starting in the...

Trucklite Tail light and front blinker longevity?

How about a solvent to soften dissolve the epoxy. Xylene may do it and may not distroy electronics.

Cold weather radiator and battery issues

This time of year all this should be done. Only repairs due to breakage not general maintenance work. When you charge a battery it will warm up. Put a trickle charger on over nite bats will be warm and hot. Check your battery connections and opposite end to frame and relay. Antifreeze is a...

My Class V Receiver Hitch for M35A2

Speaking of using a torch, one thing that can be one with a torch and not much else is to cut an nut off without shaft thread damage. I have cut 3/8-16 nuts off and 3" nuts off right down to the shafts thread with no damage. I have tried several times with plasma with no luck, and carbon arc...

    Patracy's "SEMTT"

Last time I saw you you where working on the knuckle boom. Instead of more pressure how about two air shocks or even cylinders. Cylinders with duel air circuitry and cushions both ends would work. You need to get her/him done so we can see it work.
