The Detroit lockers Tructrac that were in our older military trucks are Detroit lockers. See in the pic of web sight. Yea they work real well but not good on trucks that make a lot of hard turns on payment. Now there are more designed offered and still people call them Detroit lockers but...
Torque does not hold the locker together it is two big springs on both sides. Power turn or coasting turn the locker will unlock. I have one for a 916/ 920 I will get some pics as it is apart in my shop. You can see how the ramps on both side ratchet if one axle is allowed to spin faster than...
Per the help of member pjwest03 aka Harlan starting in on my one wire alternator upgrade. I still have a 16 /19 mm pully on order but things looking good so far. I am using all my stock brackets and as of now looks like I will need a shorter stock belt. Had to rework the alternator just a bit...
Looking good and glad to see another member joining the M37 club. I just joined this past month. Already spending money on just a couple of little things that were needed on mine.
Pretty sure a Detroit locker is always locked. Under power, coasting straight or even sitting in your driveway while your asleep. Only lets loose when the conditions on one axle is allowed to spin faster then the other.
I was going to switch out my 1088 Holland articulating plate with the Holland plate on my 915 to raise the nose of my trailer when using my 915. Same plate, I was just going to remove the two little front stop plates and slide the fifth wheel forward till off the rails. I just needed a couple of...
I think you need a little tool box. M373A2 with a new not takeout 25000 lb. S cam air axle. Good shape and in less you want to buy all / any of the plastic storage boxes they do no come with the deal. The steel tool / storage boxes are bolted in and come with. Will deliver to Denton or close...
Thanks Dave. Yea my corners of the seat base do not have those pins. Maybe it is a reproduction seat base. I did see on the bottom of my seat installed in the wood a metal fitting in the corner to hold the pin. It only has one metal fitting, guess they did not put the other one back in or it was...
I can not find the Allison article now but it said 20 minute warm up on transmissions using motor oil. Or when the transmission temperature gage says 100*. With as much engine oil as some of our engines hold I let my engine oil limber up for at least 10 minutes. If I am using the 915A2 that...
If and when you get a SF97 double check all the numbers before you go to your DMV. They had the wrong tare weight on my trailer but they did correct it when I sent it back to Texas.
I have the little latch for the front. Was there something to hold the seat from sliding side to side when getting into the truck. I see nothing on the truck seat frame work or on the seat bottom that might hold it from going side to side. Not a big deal just wondering. Tanks
Well told myself I was done and getting out of the OD got to have stuff. Problem was Clay Walker did to fine of a frame off restoration on this one to let it pass so now she is mine. 1954 so she is one year younger than me.
