Just bought an M705 today. VIN: B100019. No rot. Surprisingly clean. It's a '71 transferred to the Agency of Natural Resources, Water Dept. in 1972 but the bed is intact and un-converted. Painted black. Gas 350. Holley single barrel carb. Couple extra wires, but all original and very...
I'm thinking it's possible I have a bad rebuilt unit. It happens. I've already ordered another - but in the meantime I thought I'd ask around. Thanks for your input - that's probably my issue!
In an effort to keep the M1009 bone stock original, I have replaced the washer pump / wiper motor assembly with an LMC rebuilt unit (the only thing not working was the washer pump). I installed the rebuilt unit and attached the ground strap (that wasn't with the rebuilt unit) and tried it. The...
...and always relevant. I found the two relays next to the starter relay. Here's the BOSCH #: 0.332.204.151.
I'll have to get a couple as I don't have any sitting around to check. Will be back when I do...
Old Thread.....anything come of checking the relay? Mine just gave up working too.
Relay location next to starter relay as I read in an earlier post? Thanks...
I did not keep any hose information.
I suggest putting your A/C components in place with all holes completed, etc. Run the hoses and fittings that come with the kit. Cut the hoses as necessary, position the ends as needed (angle of the end on the hose matters), then remove them all, secure...
Pulled the air filter assembly off and removed the vacuum lines to the IP in an effort to clear the top of the IP for removal. That's when the vacuum lines crumbled in my hands.
Replaced vacuum lines and test drove. It runs beautifully and pulls hills as it should. Thanks for all the brain...
Thanks for the input.
When the power is lost, it's at the same RPM, in the same gear, and feels like a mechanical "clunk" of loss. It's abrupt and consistent. Does it make sense that it could be biological colony or a bend in a hose / hose deterioration? It feels like a solenoid is flipped...
A friend has asked me to check out his '85 M1009, 26,000 miles, all new filters and oil, transmission serviced and fluid / level good. During acceleration through 2nd gear, the engine output drops to about half as the limited acceleration continues. First gear, no problem - good power...
This appeared to be my most promising resource. American made, excellent quality (found someone with them on a Land Rover.)

Thanks for the help!
So I have these tires sitting around that are 275/65/R18 Mud-Terrains and thought that it would be nice to be able to throw them on the Blazer from time to time for various adventures. The problem is finding a basic black steel/alloy wheel that is made for this truck in an 18".
Any thoughts or...
Of course in the event of a Carrington event or EMP, your CUCV will be useless. The current CUCV 6.2 setup will most likely only have the glow plug controller fail, and I have an extra in my Faraday 'cage.'
'85 M1009: I just noticed that my volt meter is doing zero when the key is turned on. Every other function appears to be working, light-wise. ALL fuses have been pulled and checked - with a meter and put back in. And my original manuals are missing the wiring diagrams. What's the best...
