Huh, Ive been running it for a year now in two trucks with no problems. Others have as well. To get some more insight look up wreckermans recipie for it. He uses a mix very successfully.
I have been mixing about 25 gallons of wmo or wvo with 15 gallons of diesel ad 5 gallons of gasoline. I then add some of the powerservice. This is not an exact science and I use what I have at home. Sometimes a little more diesel, sometimes a little more gas. Also cold weather sometimes...
x-ray is using mineral oil that is used in transformers. Its simply cooling oil and does not circulate like oil in a car and have wast products built up in it. It remains nice and clean.
You can thin it a little with gasoline. It sometimes helps to do that so the mix is a little thinner. I use the power service in the silver bottle. I have found that if you buy the larger bottle at Walmart its cheaper then the auto parts stores for the same size and you dont have to buy as...
I would not buy anything down there unless it was something like a mint PT boat or maybe a perfect half track . (all of which GL does not currenly sell) I would just keep looking closer to home.
Wreckerman,
I thought I was the only dummy that got dirty filtering wmo, wvo, transmission fluid and various other products? Just how does a technical engineering genious like yourself get dirty filtering your oil?
The Brittish Carrier Ark Royal is up for auction. I hope posting this does not violate SS rules about auctions but it was on fox news today.
Here is the link to the article. It would be cool to own a modern carrier. A little out of my budget though.

I have found great prices on the internet through dudadiesel in Alabama. Good prices, fast shipping, no minimum orders. They have everything for filtering this stuff.
Randini, you will notice a different smell based on the oil. Mine can smell like fried fish, french fries or chineese food...
I had to loosen the bolts that secure the alternator, push it over and then had good access to the bolt. It makes the job easier if you have one person under the truck supporting the canister as you loosen it. Not only does that keep it from falling and hitting the ground, spilling everywhere...
I changed mine last week. My spin on bases were made by Jatonka with WIX filters. I unscrewed them and one did not drip a drop, the other filter leaked a very small amount out. It was cleaner and easier than the canisters on my other deuce. A lot faster too.
Even if there was no map, a directory of suppliers and dealers with name, address and phone number with internet site and email contact info would be awesome.
I just walked in and said you will notice the vin number is short. This is standard procedure for a vin / serial number that is attached to a former govmt. vehicle. They said okay, thanks for clarifying that and printed me my registration.
I purchased mine from a guy in Dawsonville, Ga who regularly deals in used military tires. He usually has a lot of hummer sized tires but gets in 395's on a pretty regular basis. Mine ranged from 75-85% tread and I paid about $80 each. I came home with six tires. 4 for the bobbed truck and 2...
I also have a friend who informed me that he will be brining his bobbed deuce. Im so glad he will be coming. This may turn out to be a really cool event.
It not only hides the imperfections but seals up the grain better and soaks in. Have you ever painted raw wood with a spray can? Holy cow, its sucks it up. The exterior HD Behr paint goes on good and saves a lot of cans of spray.
A bunch. You can get it from rapco in cases of 12 cans for about $60. You will need at least a case if not more. For the rails and stuff I took a can of Rapco paint and went to home depot, had them match it with a Baehr exterior flat with primer built in. They did an exact, exact match and I...
