I am VERY VERY VERY VERY interested in the tranny gearing. I have been racking my brain and buring up the internet trying to find a why to get more gearing. I will buy the new over drive gears if they are available.
For my application I do not have to worry about that. Plus, I know guys that run the same running gear in thier mud and trail trucks. They drive on the road at highway speeds with no issues. Not to mention some of them are running BIG power to them.
I am not really in a position right now to be buying engines. I am still in Iraq and my wife cannot move them around. So right now I am just gathering information. If I was home and the deal was good I would gladly make a weekend trip up there and snatch them up.
If I can locate a few junk dueces with good engines, that woudl work just fine. this is what I would like to find if I were to do that.
No bed
No running gear
No T-case
No Problem
Complete cab, engine, tranny, and frame is what I would prefer.
I prefer not to do that. However, I would like to get some junk dueces that at least have a complete engine in them. That would help. The biulds themselves are too much to get into with a key board. Once I am home and getting into the plan I will post what I am doing.

I have noticed that trucks sell for different amounts in different places. They can be the same kind of truck in the same condition and have a huge gap in price. What part of the country should I watch for a tanker?
I have seen some real junk M49A2C's go for good money. So I know what you mean. I wonder if I would be better off dropping the money and getting one that is ready to work, or buying one that needs help for less. The problem is I might end up spending more in the long run.
I think I saw a thead...
Oh yeah, running or non running I really do not care. Just as long as it is a complete truck, what kind of prices should I prepare myself for either way?
I want to get a M49A2C but the prices on GL are too high and from what I can tell dealers are smoking something good. The costs are so far apart I cannot find an average price. What is a reasonable price for one and where is a good place to look? Also, didn’t the M211 come in a similar...
