Okay, maybe I am not looking in the right place on the website. When I click on the site, I see a picture of a Mk. 19 Automatic Grenade Launcher on the left. Although impressive, this is not what I am looking for. Clicking on the drop down menu for sim-fire brings up .30 Brownings and.50...
This may have been answered someplace before, but I will go ahead and ask again, as I couldn't find the answer the first time. :deadhorse:
Does anybody make a simulated firing M60? Not an airsfot or a semi-auto, but a simulated firing model - one that runs on propane/oxygen.
I have checked...
Greetings!
I am also in Houston.
If you have some time, swing by the Military Museum of Texas on Wallisville Road some week-end. You'll likely find me or several other folks who have knowledge on the trucks.
Also, this forum is a great place to learn.
Irac doesn't offer an M60 that is sim-fire. They do have some very nice looking .30 cal Brownings. And, the airsoft models can't be converted (already looked into it). The airsoft look okay, but that's not what I need.
So, I guess it's abck to the drawing board on building what I need.aua
Does anybody make a sim-fire M60?
With my gun truck, I'll have the quad .50's on the back. We need the M60 to cover the loaders, and direct fire.
Sure, I'd like to get a real one, but I don't have the $$$ that it would take just to feed it. So, gas is the way to go.
BTW, we are using...
Technically, I still live in Bulverde, although I am working a job based out of the greater Houston area (Rosenberg, SW of Houston).
Currently, Deuce is based out of Houston.
However, I do events all over the State, ranging from Austin, to Mineral Wells, to Palestine to Bastrop to Houston...
For more information, contact the National Dusters, Quads, Searchlights Association. They are the guys who actually served on the quads and the dusters. Their website is: Vietnam Memoirs
I have the smaller steering wheel on it now. At least, that's what I am told. I think it is 18 inches in diameter.
Is there a smaller wheel, say 16 inches?
Every little bit helps.:driver:
Driver,
Sorry if this has already been answered, but I think you are thinking of the Eve of Destruction. The Great Eve belonged to an ADA outfit and defended the infantry during an attack. I'll have to look up to see who she actually belonged to.

It looks like a lot of fun was had by all who attended.
With any luck, next year The Widowmaker will make it. We should have it all put together by then.
Where will the next rally be held? We'll be coing from Texas, so we'll need a few extra days' travel time.
Robert...
Okay folks, I have some good questions for you.
First, the truck is a 1971 M35A2 with a depot rebuild date of 1989. It has the later engine, the 465 (I thnk) and is a turbo-diesel (a real screamer).
I am converting the truck to Viet Nam for the quad project I am working on. It is not a...
Ok, thanks for the help on this one. I am continuing the research. I located my manuals on mounting the different plows and such, plus a Navy manual for Equipment Operator with a couple of photos.
I'll try all the places that all y'all came up with. Especially the Equipment Trader.
As the...
Interesting. I had an auto policy with Progressive, and made a claim. They took care of it that day.
However, when I looked into getting insurance on a deuce, they wouldn't touch it. These are the same folks who had the claim on my '42 GPW and M100 trailer for several years. I had to...
Okay, I realize that this may be in the wrong forum. But, I do know that Rome Plows had some armor on them. :-D
I had the wonderful idea (at 4AM) that I should replicate a Viet Nam era Rome Plow. So, I looked through the web, and found some info. Which is why I am here. To get more info...
Thanks to everybody for the help on this project. Also thankks to tree207 for the heads up about the National Dusters Quads Searchlights Association. I will certainly check them out.
I am hoping to make the Gun Truck rally this year, although I won't have my project finished by then. If I...
What do I need to do to "convert" an M809-series cargo truck to an M54-series cargo truck?
I know I need to move the air cleaner to the opposite fender. Are there any other glaring things I need to do?
I am trying to construct a Viet Nam era gun truck, and have been unsuccessful in...
