I bought a M52A2 from GL. Not Running when I purchased it. With alot of help from fellow SS I did everything I could. The truck had IP problems, to much for me to fix. I took the truck to Jim Henry in Albemarle NC, he said the IP timing was off and the HH was bad. He replaced the parts for me...
Before the use of Civilian Tree Clearing machinery was widely available many construction companys used them to clear new roadways, subdivisions, etc., around North and South Carolina. I have seen many at use on civilian projects in the 80's and early 90's but not lately. Most were on CAT D8's
I have noticed on sevral different 2 1/2 tons some headlight are mounted high in the grill while others are mounted low in the grill. Does anyone know why?
I have a M52A2 with hard top, heater, winch, 60%+on all tires(spare is new), rebuilt in 1992 per tags.
I think I will need to put a new IP on it. Do I purchase a IP and pay someone to put on the the IP or do I part it out and start over?
Cost is my issue. Give me some thoughts.
How much should the plunger travel in the Hydralic Head of a multifuel?
Mine has about 1/8" when the motor is turning over. How does that sound?
I bought a truck that was not running at purchase . It had a bad HH, the plunger was frozen, so I replaced the HH with a good one.
Thank
I wish I had some mechanical skills!
I still can't get the FU#$%#@@ Hydralic Head to send fuel to the injectors.
The plunger is going up and down, fuel is on top of the plunger when the motor spins over.
HELP!!!!
New Hydralic Head
I just put on a hydralic head on the M52 (LDS-4651A). Something is not working correctly.
When I try to start the truck with the engine turning over fuel is being sent to the center of the HH and the plunger is going up and down. I cracked one of the fuel lines on top of the...
I took out the hydralic head. The plunger sticks. I put some penatrating oil to loosen it up.
I'll check it in a few hours. I may just get another hydralic head. I have to take my vice to compress the plunger, then tap it back down with a small wood dowel to get it to move.
Hydralic head
The plunger in the hydralic head is not moving up and down when the motor is spinning over. I took a punch and tapped it. It moved down and did not come back up.
I am trying to take off the hydralic head to check the spring, etc.
I removed the fuel lines, bolts, and stud sleeves...
