    New to me mep-018a

I picked up this genny in a trade deal, so I don't have much in it. I have been reading all the old threads here on the 18 and have learned a lot already. Just one question for other 18 owners, for now. Looks like the Army was running 15/40 in it when last in service, is this a good choice for...

Are those the lines on the tractor? Looks like they are, if so I think the hard lines on the parts goat I have access to are in good shape. If you are not in a big hurry I can probably stop and check on them later this week.

    M561/M792 Gama Goat VIC-1 VRC-12

That is really nice Bill, thanks for sharing those pictures. Seeing all that como gear reminds me of the time I was on a JTF 6 mission on the Mexican border. I had a singcars, am radio, satcom and a cell phone for backup, a million dollars worth of como gear and of course from the op location...

    Gama Goat Heater options?

I just happen to have a brand new m151 heater laying around in box somewhere, but I like the look and ease of install on that electric unit.

I have joined the Goat herd

Thats the million dollar question. The previous owner(before Warthog) told me when he got the engine it was out of time, and this resulted in a bent valve. He told me he re-timed the motor, but I will check it to make sure, in the number one cylinder you could see where at least one valve hit...

I have joined the Goat herd

Motor progress, looks like new inside with no wear at all that I can tell. I have at least 6 valves that are bent, I think I will just replace them all. Check motor timing again and slap it back together, should be good to go.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

I have joined the Goat herd

Well I decided to go the replacement route so I went up to Ft. Chaffee this morning to salvage the hood off the parts truck. Had to get my wife to help me, now that's a debt I can never repay if you know what I mean.:D Got the hood home, it had a few problems. The dvr side corner was broke and...
