Crushing a Car with a Deuce.

Wait till the M211 owner figures out he has cased that hydromatic. I have seen M211's that are never driven off the parking lot because the tranny is somehow broken, and the owner can't pay it. Too bad the guys couldn't swap the good tranny to the cared for truck and the crappy one to the abused...

Am I missing something on the transmission

Mine leaked about 1 quart every 1000 miles, mostly seepage from the valve cover running down the front of the engine and being blown all over the place and finally making drips there at the bellhousing. This is known as the automatic anti-rust system. It did cause worry until i cleaned the...

    My "FUN-METER" is pegged out!!

I am glad you are happy! I cannot say how much fun it was when I got my M35, and slowly took care of all the little things it needed over time. Even more so, the build of the communications shelter over a period of 4 years was a labor of love during which time the equipment configuration changed...

What a Deuce is made for, Especially a bobbed one.

There is a guy in MO, "showmemudders" that (aside from cutting up trucks for the axles to put under pickup trucks) has a few deuces that can take on the mud. He seems to be popular with the mudding crowd. I will never mud my truck like that intentionally as it is one way to start breaking...

Hairba11's LED Headlight build (a.k.a. huffing solder fumes on a sunday afternoon)

It is more work, but you can download free proprietary printed circuit board schematic and layout software and design a board to hold all those LED leads, then have the boards made for about $50 each. That is a lot of hand-wiring for sure otherwise. If you just want to support all of it, some...

    A/C Retrofit Kits

Be aware installing the A/C condenser in front of the M35 radiator has been proven to cause overheating of the truck in modeate weather. The condenser ought to be boxed with fans and mounted on the fender or perhaps underneath the chassis.

How do I haul a trailer without using air brakes?

If the bought generator is 3 phase and the stator has 6 or 12 leads, it can almost always be rewired to be single phase. I did this with the Mankato 40K 208V 3PH diesel unit in my backyard, and now it is a 30K single phase 240V unit. The voltage had to be adjusted slightly but most regulators...

    attempted theft

At night I turn on the surveillance montor on the nightstand. Any unusual noises wake me and I see what's up. I have appeared from the 3 AM darkness with a 45 before and discharged it, much to the embarassment of would-be burglars whose only remaining thought was to depart. There have been no...

NHC-250 injection pump woes - PT pump in ruins

Thanks Rene M. Pm me and i'll connect with thanks. I have not done much on the truck yet, it got hot here, and the project of putting up a 60FT ham radio tower has taken precedence. I have a large size AM transmitter and I am waiting for a chance to get that monster on the air. This is the...

    M818 Starting Issue

Mine had sucked air in through a crack in the main fuel filter cannister top section. It also had sucked dirt and crap in there and the PT pump was trashed at 7000 miles. Better check carefully, there is nothing to prevent dirt getting in when air is being sucked in. Then the pump is toast. see...

    M818/ Cummins NA250

16.00 is 63MPH @ 2100 RPM. I have never taken the NHC250 over redline. The one I have, it runs like a scalded dog since the PT pump was replaced. The 16:00's don't bother it much as it's an M818 with a 109 body becaue that is a relatively light truck. I don't want to ever overspeed this...

    5 TON Re-Power ?????

What is the tallest tire that can be "correctly and safely run on the highway" on those kind of rims?

How do I haul a trailer without using air brakes?

About the posts - the offending links have been removed. I'm not too concerned about bare unideltified pictures in this one case although technically those particular ones should not remain. Since they illustrate a point in the thread they can stay unless a higher power overrides me. But...

    Weekend at Wreckeman's

Wish I could have been there. It's too hot in Texas.. Bu that outweighs many other problems we do not have.

    5-ton gun trucks in Iraq?

Well the kits are perfectly OK to show and very interesting to read about. Who knows what might show up surplus? It's no fun having to delete items and mention rules, especially in an interesting thread where it's obvious the intention was good. Thanks to our members for their support. This...

Attention!! Please use caution when driving vehicles home from auction!

Stupid uncaring people often survive and even emerge unscathed, but the consequences to their unwilling victims is often horrible.

    5-ton gun trucks in Iraq?

The images were removed because it is against a rule to post images depicting battle damage to property or injuries to our soldiers. (The rules include also a prohibition of gory images and images depicting the wounded or deceased enemy, as the showcasing of suffering or death is not proper...

    bobbed and lifted deuce

Don't take it so seriously. In ones and zeros, you have "destroyed" the deuce because it is no longer a deuce. It's a 2-ton 4x4 made from a deuce. My dad used to have a fit whenever I would cut out the dash on a 1970 car to put in a decent stereo. And that was in 1980. I built up a Ford Pinto...

I am trying to find a way to get more cab space out of mu deuce.

The only way to make the driver spot more comfy for other than short or skinny people is to extend the cab back and move the seat back. Being made for trim and fit soldiers, the cab is just too short for most older wider people to put a comfy seat in. I have to use the old style box seat in the...
