Okay, I added a cigarette lighter to my M1009. I plugged the power lead for the cig lighter into the "v-mtr" fuse panel slot. When I pushed in the lighter, it blew the bottom 10 amp fuse that feeds power to the volt meter.
Where should I plug this lead for the lighter into?
Can I run a higher...
Has anyone built a camper for the Deuce?
I was thinking of putting my cargo top up and then...building a camper to fit inside the area under the cover. That way, it would look military authentic from the outside, but inside...James Bond! Toilet, sink, beer, TV DVD, round rotating bed, and a...
I was looking at and feeling the paint inside my deuce and my M1009...(my wife had a headache that night).
The paint has a sort of sandy gritty texture to it. Is this strictly a military paint characteristic? My M1009 does not have "CARC" stenciled nor does my M35A2. I think perhaps sand or...
Does anyone have a source for new decals? The one to the left of the main light switch?
Let me know, or else I'll have to make one as mine is delaminated in the center.

PS. Was thinking about making them out of aluminum with 3m backing tape, screen printed.
Okay...I bought a generic, but pretty nice looking cig lighter from Kragen so I can charge my cell phone, etc. I've mounted it in its proper place, but need to know where to hook up the wires so it is only on when the ignition is turned on.
It also has a lighted green plastic bezel so you...
Does anyone have an instruction sheet showing installation procedures for the radio mount that mounts by the back seat, right side? My mount kit didn't have them and seems to be missing the mounting tray. anyone know where to get the parts to complete this mounting system?

Anyone out there get the JC Whitney replacement door panels or dash for their M1009 / M1008 ?
My panels are sun beaten on the top and I want that fresh, just pimped my milride look.
Or, does GM still have parts for this truck?

Well I made it back...A trip from San Fran to San Diego. The only problem I had was the transfer case.
While going about 65 mph, I lost all drive to the rear wheels. I coasted into a convenience store lot off the freeway, but could find nothing amiss. I locked the front hubs and put her in 4...
Hey all,
I'm picking up and driving my M1009 from San Francisco area and driving it back to San Diego. If you have any suggestions or procedures I should be aware about or follow, please post them before thursday.
Thanks,
Warren
Hey guys,
I hated the slip on stock cover, so I bought some premium grade plywood and cut the back to fit.
I allowed room for the upholstery material to fit in the seat frame.
I marked and drilled 1/4" holes in four loactions 4" in from the sides.
I positioned the wood panel in the frame and...
Well, I took out my trans tunnel covers and sanded with 80 grit then brush painted two coats of Herculiner. No brush marks visible and the stuff is nice and tuff! I used 1/2 can of the quart size to do the three pieces. It dries for recoat in about 1.5 hours. It is completely dry in 12 hours and...
