395/85r20 XZLs on A3 Rims not holding air!!!

It depends on what valve stem you have. Can you post a picture? The original a3 stem grommets can be gotten at Erics and there are other sources.

    Riverside LED Lights

Do you already have them or getting a great deal on them? I find the led lights various companies made for the military to be very sub par in the reliability department. Installation in very straight forward. The hardest part is matching the correct wires up. Which if your number tags are...

395/85r20 XZLs on A3 Rims not holding air!!!

The filling valve is a standard Schrader valve. I'm referring to where the stem actually enters the wheel.

395/85r20 XZLs on A3 Rims not holding air!!!

Did you replace the valve stem grommets?!!! If they are the original a3 valve stems then the rubber grommet under it is very prone to age cracking and leaking. While the run flats are definitely not the correct ones I don't see that being the problem. You DO NOT need bead locks or run...

LED headlight gripe of the day

Looks like the new style trucklite models. Interested if they last any longer.

Brake Fluid Leak Around Master Cylinder Cap????

The best thread sealant I have ever used. Use anywhere standard pipe threads are used. Use sparingly. http://www.permatex.com/products-2/product-categories/thread-compounds/thread-sealants/permatex-thread-sealant-with-ptfe-detail

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have a decent hood Jeepsinker sold me. Turns out I didn't need it. I'll be putting it up for sale soon if someone doesn't pick it up first.

    White Hercules multifuel ...need advice

G.O = gear oil. That could mean gl 1 or gl 5 or whatever. 80w-90 is usually gl-5. Non detergent strait weight engine oil such as 30w or 40w is basically the exact same thing as gl 1 gear oil. They are both base oil stock. The difference is with engine oil you have choices on viscosity...

    What goes here?

I'd rather just stick a pipe plug in there with a small hole drilled in it.

    White Hercules multifuel ...need advice

Someone needs to introduce him to billw. That is a perfect deuce if there ever was one. I'm sure the money and man hours reflect that. I hope to see that marvel of a truck in person one day.

    White Hercules multifuel ...need advice

The head gaskets are known to seep oil. It may not be as bad as you are thinking. Any coolant in your engine oil or oil in your cooling system? If not you might try retorquing the head nuts. Worth a shot. I put 40 wt motor oil in my transmission. Seemed to help a little. Your results may...

    White Hercules multifuel ...need advice

There is nothing missing on the drivers side of the firewall that I can tell. The j shaped pipe by the air cleaner is the air vent tube for the air pak. It's supposed to dead end into the bobble head vent cap on the end of it. The seepage down the engine is possibly the head gasket? Hard to...

    Alternator Pulley Source?

Brake fluid in the wrong place

Hey a small brake fluid leak is better than rusty water puking out of your slobber tube. My firewall is still orange from that.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Not true. Non detergent strait weight engine oil is the same thing as gl-1 gear oil. Which is just base oil stock. These trucks ran for 50 years with gl-1 in everything but the engine.

Brake fluid in the wrong place

I drove mine 150 miles home with a locked up air pak. That should make you feel better.

    Alternator Pulley Source?

A 7/8" bit shouldn't run more than about $15. I would also suggest a step bit to get the initial pilot hole to 7/8". Then finish out with a 7/8" silver and demming bit.

Brake fluid in the wrong place

Yup. There are a couple of seals on the piston shaft that can fail. Actually, it's very common for those to fail. Pull whichever air pack you intend to rebuild down. Inspect everything. If there are any chips, scrapes, or rust in the chrome of the shaft it's toast. It will eat the new...
