Don't get me wrong 5tonman I like my working CTIS but while doing the work I did can see the benifit of having the capability of capping off the CTIS parts when out on the trail without replacement parts available. (Much easier to keep a couple of plugs in a toolbox than a complete CTIS...
After changing out a few tires/wheels on the Beast I'm really contemplating removing the CTIS and or have the plugs on hand if something breaks while out on the road.....So I want to know what size thread/Plug(s) are being used to plug the rear hubs when doing a CTIS removal. So far I have not...
Silverstate,
No worries on the seat(s). I picked up a bostrom from MarkMontana as well as the other items I got from him.... I just now need to figure out a mounting system for it as it's just the seat. I think I can figure out a mount and still use the stock spring base.
Installed a hardtop I was able to pickup for a great price and was unused but lightly abused in the years it got moved around in storage barns/warehouses etc.. Also got my new tires installed on the front and fixed the leaking turret valve (valve stem) on a used rim/tire combo I picked up while...
Well got the other tires switched around so now I have the new XZL tires on both front positions and I got the nut tightened on the inside of the rim for the turret valve stem(s) that was loose on the spare rim/tire I picked up. Did get the hardtop installed but I've got to figure out how to...
I was just about to post the same thing as I just got done adjusting mine and mine is the newer style and was opposite of what was in the TM directions I had.

Is the truck your getting known to be road worthy? That's a lot of miles on an unknown, Expensive tow bill if something goes south. If set on driving it back I would suggest having a local to the truck SS member get it checked out and repair any glaring issues before hitting the road. Have...
Davo, The other day I was able to take the Beast out on the highway and I can tell you that I was able to place the shifter into the lower gears (3 & 4) and was able to hold that gear to the new governor speed! As such I can easily cause the over-speed speed light to come on, which in the...
I would highly suggest finding a local SS member who is familiar with the truck your looking at and have them help look it over. The Odometer was probably reset/replaced so that may or may not reflect actual mileage of the truck and or engine/etc.
Anyways...Welcome to your future addiction...
You're doing it wrong...
Slightly push down on the hazard tab and while holding it there you move the selector lever all the way Up (it will be higher than the Right turn position)

A small update.... picked up a M105A2 trailer (Johnson Corp out of Ohio built it July 1968 ) that is in decent shape with good 9.00x20 NDT tires on it. Also picked up a Hardtop for it which I hope to get installed this coming weekend. Also picked up a couple of NOS (2011 manufacture) XZL tires...
