    oil pans

Sounds like you are opening a whole new can of worms. that oil pan does not have a whole lot of extra swing room on the inside, as I'm sure you realize, but to start cutting and welding on one to clear x-over steering is not something I would want to tackle. I have x-over steering on one of my...

    Possibly gov-loc issues

I have a complete set of M1009 axles I would let go for $500 if anyone is interested. They are already removed from the vehicle, and are in excellent shape. And yes, I agree the pics of the differential show nothing wrong with the carrier or ring gear, just possibly a loose nut behind the wheel...

    U joint Failure

One other thought: The Original spicer u-joints for the M1008 do not come with grease nipples (I like that word better than zerks), and the amount of synthetic grease in them is critical. Not sure what the M1009's look like, but I will go crawl under one of mine tomorrow and see. The new spicer...

    U joint Failure

One of the M1008s I have still has the original driveshaft and TC, and it has a fair amount of vibration. I took the original driveline out since it was bent by a forklift and had the tube replaced. It still had a vibe to it, so I took it back to the shop. They put it back on the lathe and then...

    is this worth it??

Go low with the first offer. Play limbo with the seller: How low can U go? I don't care what the guy is asking, if he is looking to sell it, he is probably willing to take what he has into it, or possibly even a loss. Offer him $2500, and let himknow you know of several others being sold not too...

Ft. Benning to Sorrento, FL M109A3 transport needed

If you can't get them to work and need to tow it, and you can get hold of a set of tow bars, I could probably tow it for you with one of my deuces. I have a place in High Springs, FL, which would give a nice rest area around the half-way mark from Ft Benning to Sorrento, if you need a place to...

Atlanta & Fort Benning Deuce Pick-ups

It's all in how you hold your mouth... Bite lower lip and raise upper left corner for upshifts, and relax evrything for downshift, even letting a little drool escape if you want to do it without clutching...

    M1009 Brake question

Actually, on a little more thought, your mechanic might have been referring to the slider pins on the front calipers. They need to always have a nice coating of synthetic brake grease on them to keep them from sticking.

    M1009 Brake question

I'm confoosed... Yer mechanic said the brakes were dry and needed to be lubricated? Not sure I follow him there. I do know a little oil on brakes or a clutch will make them super grabby. You might want to have the front disk rotors taken off and checked to see if they need to be turned. While...

Baby got a new pair of shoes!

That sure is a pretty truck. If I had it, I would figure out a way to put this here engine of mine in it:

    is this worth it??

For $4000, your dad could probably get one with a winch, or possibly an M35A3 with the Cat engine, I just bought one out of SC for a final bid of $4800. Lots of people say the Cat engine is a pain and expensive to maintain, but it sure pulls a lot better than the multifuels I have been driving...

    is this worth it??

Ditto... A base model deuce with a $500 hard top is not worth mush over $2k. I paid a total of just under $4500 for an M109A3 that was completely refurbished in 2005 in Ft. Riley, KS. Here are some pics:

    Good Morning from Brooksville FL!

You probably just need to bleed the brakes and possbily a new master cylinder. You can get them on ebay. Croom game reserve brings back some memories. I bet i could go past those gapping trenches the so-called "big boys" made with their trucks years ago. I'll let you know next time I am down...

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

Hey WM, I'll check it out. I haven't had time to read all 31 pages of this thread yet, so I probably don't have much info that has already been provided. I'll see if I can find it on Google Earth as well. I'll see you tomorrow around 1500 hrs in front of the Rooms to Go. Looking forward to our...

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

Happens to the best of us. I had to shoot mine down when I tried the helium trick - you know, to make her sound funny when she talks. Anyway, one shot, one kill, and luckily I had some clear packing tape to patch her up. I'll can donate a couple of slabs of beef from Sam's for the rally. I'll...

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

Has anyone here considered Sam's Club for the food needs? They have pretty good prices for a variety of things such as frozen chicken by Tyson's and we could get the big slabs of beef and cut it up ourselves to save some mula...

    Good Morning from Brooksville FL!

My parents live at the end of Timberlane, if you know where Our Rd (That is the name of the road) is off Old Crystal River Rd, which is off of Hwy 41 North, Timberlane is at the end of Our Rd. If y'all want to get together sometime for a little deuce riding and fresh water tarpon fishing, my dad...
